The rake forced his way into my chamber door.

He stared at my body as if he owned me.

"M'Lady, I shan't be able to live if you marry another", said he. He closed the chamber door. I sensed a different feeling that was foreign to me.

"M'Lord...".

"It is my feeling that you, as I've longed for your love for eight years, that I will die if you love another man. It'll break my heart".

"Your heart M'Lord; your heart is not for me. You have bedded so many Ladies of marriage age...". And I knew everything was gone.

He touched my body. He kissed my mouth. He let his eyes dwell on my breasts. But he didn't do anything more than desire for me...as the heat flowed between us.

"M'Lady. I won't in my age leave Kansas without you at my side. I will desire the truth. Do you want to live with Sir Throckett Ridgeton...or me?", the rake asked.

"You, M'Lord...".

And then the door burst open.

And my Mother glared at the rake...My lover...

..."You...".

And she dragged the rake away from my private chambers...as Sir Throckett Ridgeton glared at me as well.

"Well, if she is disloyal to me now...then the marriage is off".

And he stormed outside, got into the passenger-side carriage. His driver, Moates, closed the door. Then he grabbed the horses' reigns with his gloved hands, and headed back to Ridgeton Manor...without me as his new wife...since we didn't even get married at the Kansas Catholic Church for the ceremony.

I had a dazed look on my tear streaked face...And my life was now over...As was my future with Sir Robert...the rake.
