"What do you mean?"
"She doesn't trust people. I'm her brother and she still flinches away when I try to touch her but you, she has no problem with." he turned to look at me. "It's probably your eyes."
"My eyes?"
He nodded. He turned back to look at her. "Her mother had really blue eyes but she probably only subconsciously remembers. She probably feels safe with you because of your eyes."
"Maybe."
"Don't take this lightly. My sister is dangerous and powerful. Her trust is extremely valuable," he explained. "Her heart is very small and closed off to everyone. She might be letting you in, don't let that go to waste."
I looked back at her. Her chest rose with every slow breath. She had an emotionless look on her face but I knew behind those closed eyelids were eyes that could tell a million stories. She was definitely a story I wanted to know. "I won't."*
