Chapter 1: Breaking News!

Ding Ding Ding!

I heard grabbing my attention, I looked up at my girlfriend as she held a glass in her hands. "Can I have everyone attention please?" She asks. Everyone looks at her and she puts on a smile. "I don't usually do speeches, I usually keep to myself but today is a really important day" I frowned but quickly put on a smile. "I know this is a wedding ceremony, and so congratulations to the bride and groom" Lauren raises her glass to Camila and Matthew who just smiled at her.

"I never thought I'd hear her say more than 3 words" Dinah whispers in my ear making me playfully roll my eyes at her nudging her shoulder. She chuckles.

"And I know I should have asked for permission but I just want to shine light on the fact that it's Y/n and I 3 year anniversary" everyone gasped shocked by the news. I'm surprised she's even talking about it after she just yelled at me for forgetting our day.

I didn't forget the anniversary, I just thought that it was tomorrow I thought today was the 11th not the 12th. I basically dragged Lauren to a wedding on a day that we were supposed to spend together.

"It's been officially 3 years since we met, I bumped into her while hiking and she almost fell off a cliff" everyone laughed as I blushed in embarrassment. "I remember grabbing her before she fell and holding her in my arms. And I don't want to sound creepy but I just- I took in every flaw and was like 'damn she's beautiful' I knew after that day that I had to get to know her, and I wanted to touch her and I wanted her to be mine" she looks me right in the eyes.

"And so I made her mines...and I know this is going to be crazy. Which I am but can we steal the spot light for just one second?" She looks over at the bride groom. They looked at each other "oh, what the hell...go ahead!"

Lauren nods before walking over to me.  She gets down on one knee"I know we just had an argument but I want you to know that I am I love with you, and nothing will stop me from loving you. I want to spend the rest of my life with with you. So y/n y/l/n will you marry me?" My eyes widen as I nodded she slide the ring on my finger as I pulled her into a hug.

We shared a kiss.  That made the butterflies in my stomach go crazy.

Pulling away "I love you"

"I love you too"

"You know you could have proposed at home you didn't have to do it at someone wedding" I say as we walked into our home. "Camila and Matthew didn't seem to mind, and I couldn't hold it in any longer. You're the girl I want to be with forever" she grabbing me by waist and pressing her lips to mines.

I instantly kissed back wrapping my arms around her neck as she tilts her head deepening the kiss. Our tongues battled in dominance as we somehow made up the stairs. We fell on the bed removing our clothes, and making love until we couldn't we grew tired and fell asleep.

I felt the bed raise up making my eyes open just a little. "Where are you going?" I asked pulling the covers over my body, closing my eyes again. "I left something in the car go back to sleep" I didn't say anything in return because I was already dozing off.

The next morning Lauren wasn't in the bed next to me. It was always like that. She would always wake up earlier than me to do whatever she does in the shed in the back yard. I knew she was in there. I didn't have to check to know.

I just assume that she's building something because she always like to make things. But she don't let me go in there.

I never knew why and I don't care to find out either.

I walked into the kitchen, and poured me a bowl of honey smacks. I cut on the tv and threw my legs up on the table.

"Breaking News: 21 year old Kelly Williams and 20 year old Madison Laylock were both found dead after going missing last week. No one knows who done it, and there's no evidence at all" the front door opens revealing Lauren she smiles at me. "Good morning baby" she says leaning over and pecking my lips. "They found the girls" I say she turns to the tv. "Oh no" she says walking past me.

"That's terrible about what happened to them"

"I know...this is the 5th murder this month in our town-"

"In other news Maya Westword daughter of the Mayor was found dead after going out partying with friends!" My eyes widen the tv cuts off I looked over at Lauren who held the remote. "I think that's enough tv for now, it's only bad news"

She says walking upstairs. "What if I'm next?" I say making her look over at me, "or my sister?, or cousins, friends? Lauren this town isn't safe"

"Baby calm down....you're not next"

"You don't know that!"

"As long as you're with me nothing is going to happened to you, because I'm going to protect you." She walks over to me grabbing my hands. "I won't let anything happened to you ok?" I nodded. "Stop watching the news it's only making you paranoid" she says kissing my forehead.

She jogs upstairs leaving me in the living room.

I cut back on the tv once I heard the door slam shut upstairs. I looked back it to see they were now talking about the weather.

Partly sunny now but in a few hours it was going to storm.
