Prompt: Hope shows Landon her special place and confessions come out.
There's no way you can down that whole jug of orange juice in ten seconds," She says challenging him. There's literally no way he hates orange juice. Usually, Hope would never put him through this but she want him to come with her.
"Do I hear a challenge cause you know I'm ready whenever you are" He cocks an eyebrow at me teasing to see if I'll go further.
"I'm already counting down," Hope raise her hand putting one finger down.
"Cheater" He shouts eagerly trying to grab the orange juice box.
She beats him to the box and raise it above my head. He swipes at my hand as she throw it in the air and, she watch him as he misses terribly to catch it in time.
"Hope?" He whines and reaches toward my hand.
Hope dodge him and he chases her around the cafe.
"You have to come now. You promised." She squeals, desperately ducking behind one of the cafe's chair
"Okay I'll come," he pouts putting both arms up in surrender
She rises from her spot behind the plush Burgundy chair
"Really ?" Hope tilts her head. He's making this really easy on her something she wasn't expecting. But from Landon, she never know what to expect.
"Really," he says stepping closer to me. She can almost sense how sincere he is and that just makes her wanna be closer to him too.
He meets her where she is and places their hands together. She can't wait to show him all her artwork. Over the years she became proud of her work but never had the chance to show them to anybody but now she has Landon. At first, it was just a release for when she had a shitty day or felt lonely but now it just reminds her of her dad.
She take Landon to a place where she always escape. A deserted part of the Salvatore school. Hope lead him guilelessly through the ghosted halls as he takes in the new part of the school. She can't help but hide the grin that comes to my face when she see he shares my excitement to see my hideout. Hope pulls him into a desolate room. Discarded brushes parade the ground while they walk around used canvases to get to the two easels set up near the bay window.
"So this is it. You keep this place really..." he squints his eyes trying to search for the right word.
"Messy I know. But that not really important sit" She gesture towards the chair behind the easel.
He follows my demand and sits while his eyes quietly roam the room.
"I'm really glad you showed me this. I love it especially how you decorated the walls" he says smiling brightly at her.
The backstory to the wall brings back bad memories.
"Thanks, I actually wanted to redecorate make it more my style. That's kinda why you're here."
"That's the only reason I'm here" his voice sound so cynical as he twists his face up.
"No Your the person I trust the most. I just felt you should know about this place" she replied.
Hope was in such a dark place before him. With no friends and she felt like she had nobody. But when he came into her life it changed everything.
"Really Landon you changed everything for me. You're a really big part of my life and I wanted you to know about this." Her confessions caught her off guard.
She's felt like this for a long time but telling him wasn't something I wanted to tell him.
Hope could hear his heart beating rapidly but she still hadn't heard anything from him about her confession. She quickly changed the subject back to my room.
"Uhh... yeah just paint whatever you want. Whatever comes to mind. I don't know I usually paint what on my mind." She tossed a brush his way.
They painted for hours in silence. No words just them and their paintbrushes. At first, It was awkward for Hope to sit with the silence. But as the hours passed it became relaxing. She tried to sneak looks at Landon's easel but he turned it away each time.
"Hope?" he says as he turns his easel to face me and get up from his stool.
"you're a big part of my life too".
