I stood on the balcony of my apartment in Auckland. I love the city, it's so busy something's happening all the time. Unlike the country, i hate the country

it's so boring. The wind was strong and cold against my face, sending prickles of ice through my body. I zipped up my jacket and headed back inside, finishing

off my hot chocolate as i went, after putting the cup in the sink. I sighed and looked around my apartment, looking for something to do. Nothing. i glanced

at the clock, eight thirty. there was no need to go to bed this early, so i went and got my pyjamas out of my drawers, with some knickers, and went to the

bathroom. After filling up the bath, I stripped and hoped in the bath.

About five minutes in to my bath, yes i do like long baths it passes the time, the phone rang. I left it go on to the answer phone. after hoping out of the

bath and getting change i went and played the message on the answer phone. It was from my mother, asking if i wanted to go to her house for easter dinner.

i didn't really want to , its not that i hate my mum, i love her, i just have never been able to please her. She never wanted me to be a cop and it didn't

seem to help that i work for SCI (supernatural crimescene investigators). never mind she would have to live with it. i picked up the phone and called my

mum, she picked p on the second ring.

"hey, mum" i said, after she said hello.

"hi darling, where were you? oh dear, did i wake you?"

"mum it's nearly eight forty-five, i don't have that bad a social life" i Replied grimacing, i knew she was going to make some wise crack about my job.

"Well maybe if you-"

" I know mum I know, if I had another job that wasn't so private i would have a social life"

"Sorry dear, anyway, would you like to come over for easter dinner? Charles is coming" God how i hated Charles, he is so full of himself, he is the single most annoying wolf in our pack. My mother has always said that we should get married, that

we would make a great couple, i don't see it myself, and unfortunately he also thinks that we would make a great couple, somehow they have joined a pact that

one way or another we shall get married, so hence the reason i visit my home town, Timaru, when i absolutely have to. Easter was one of those times, so i was

going to have to spend one, annoyingly long day, with my mother, younger brother and Charles.

"Sara?" my mothers voice pulled me back into the here and now.

"Sorry mum what was that?" i said turning on the kettle and getting a mug out of the cupboard.

"are you able to come?" She said, i bit of annoyance seeping into the question.

"i'll see if i can get some time off work?"

"Ok fantastic, see you next week, love you"

"love you to mum" i said, hanging up the phone and getting some hot chocolate out of the pantry. After making my Drink and getting some biscuits out of the

pantry, ginger nuts, i headed into my room and started to eat and read my book. after finishing my snacks, and getting tired of reading my book, i switched

off my lamp and layed my head on the pillow. i thought up several ideas on how i could get out of Easter lunch. But i went to sleep with the conclusion

that i was going to have to go to lunch, even though i was going to dread every minute.

"Good morning Auckland!" the crackle of the radio woke me up the next morning, i moaned and rolled over and checked the time, five thirty, i flicked the blankets off me and started to get ready

for work. After having a shower and putting on my uniform, jeans and a black top with SCI printed on the back, i made some coffee and put into a thermos, grabbed my jacket, keys

and headed out the door, and started to make my way through Auckland. by the time i got through the traffic, got some breakfast from McDonalds and got to work it was seven.

i pulled into the car park outside of our 'HQ'. SCI isn't your usual everyday HQ it's actually an abandoned warehouse in south Auckland, it's a brick building covered with graffiti of all different

colours, it has a huge sign outside that used to say something like 'Trip and Rip', most of us at SCI thought it used to be a sewing warehouse, but we'll never know. After using the eye scanner

i made my way through the door and into the warehouse, i was suddenly hit with a wave if anger, that burned my nerves and left me gasping for air. After regaining my balance i ran to the door

that led down to the basement, and SCI, I was hit again with another tidal wave of anger, but this time mixed in with it was fear. I slowly made my way down stairs and took my gun out

of my holster and kept my back to the wall, I looked around the corner once i reached the bottom of the stairs. no-one was at the reception desk, I made my way slowly over to the desk

and looked to see if Gaille, the receptionist, was cowering behind the desk, her arms holding her knees close to her chest. i made my way around to her, slowly so i wouldn't scare her.

"Gaille?" I lightly touched a hand to her shoulder. after a few seconds she looked up at me, her face etched in a permanent state of fear. "Gaille what happened".

A tear trickled down her cheek and she turned her head to look at the blank computer screen, i followed her gaze. i stood up and moved the computer mouse, the computer hummed to life and

showed a picture of a young girl, no younger then fifteen, her hands to one branch of a tree and her hands to another branch, with what was left of her stomach facing the ground,

she looked like a human hammock, someone had slashed her torso so deep that all her internal organs had fallen to the ground.

my stomach churned, i turned off the monitor and turned to look at

Gaille, she was now in the fatal position on the floor. I went and got her a hot drink, the anger was still coursing through the air, pulsing every so often. After Gaille seemed to have recovered a bit

i made my way to the source of the anger, after about a minute i was standing outside my boss, Raymond a vampire's, office. The anger that was literally pulsing through every fibre of both of my

beings, was coming from this room. i was so scared to go in, but i knew i was going to find out sooner or later. I slowly opened the door, his office was completely turned over, papers were

scattered all over his office, his deck was overturned, his had been thrown at the wall and was now lying on the floor with the screen smashed and the keyboard snapped in half. my eyes

came to rest in the corner of the room, a dark shadow was sitting in a chair, he was the source of the anger. I raised my gun and pointed it at the shadow.

"She's gone Sara" Raymond voice seemed to echo across the room.

i lowered my gun and started to make way through what was left of his office, he was sitting on his desk chair.

holding a gun to his head

And a stake to his heart.
