George woke up drenched in sweat. He had been having horrible dreams for the past few weeks, and the prospect of them terrified him. Gruesome images of people being tortured in a horrific manner. The worst part was the voices. His parents, his friends, all screaming and calling his name in ghost-like wails. George decided to get a drink and try to calm down after his frightening dream. He went to the kitchen, and poured a glass of ice-cold water from the ceramic jug his parents had been given at their wedding. He began chugging it down, when he realized that his parents weren't in the living room. Normally they stayed up till the wee hours doing work, but they always used the excuse "You're seventeen! We don't want to make it easy for you to sneak out!" The truth was, George would never try to sneak out. Sure, he was invited to lots of wild parties, but he preferred to stay home and read a good book. George suddenly remembered the matter at hand, and abruptly stopped day-dreaming. He sprinted down the long narrow hallway to his parents aged bedroom. He was relieved to see them snoring contently, and made to leave, before he heard his mum mumble something. He cautiously approached her still body, and leaned in to listen. "It's happening," she mumbled. "The time is now," George was confused by the sudden outbreak of words by his drowsy mother. "What is happening?" he queried. "The time for what is now?" George was perplexed, so he decided to head back to his welcoming bed to think. He tip-toed back down the dusty hallway, his mind racing with a million possibilities of what his mothers peculiar murmurings could mean. The time for what? George decided that the best solution was to get a good nights rest, then ask his parents in the morning. "She was probably just having a strange dream," he said to himself, before diving under the covers and sinking into the mattress. He slowly drifted off to sleep, and began to dream of his mothers strange words.
