Thorn would say her day was going swell.

Except that it's not.

Yeah, they were definitely going to die.

"Where's Tau!" Ais screamed, sliding past robots and next to Thorn. She raised an ice barrier that saved their hides from a bomb. Ice shards and bits of frost scattered on them, but they were mostly unharmed.

Ais looked a little worse for wear. She didn't have any injuries, but she was exhausted. Her face was coated in sweat, despite emitting cold temperatures every second. She'd taken off her hood and let the air cool her head down, and the frosty air it radiated hit Thorn in the face.

If someone as cold as Ais—literally—was getting hot, then things might not be as hopeful as Thorn originally thought it would be.

"I don't know! He just left!" Thorn wrapped an android with her lasso. Tossing it upwards, she slammed it down against more incoming androids and destroyed them all in one swing. She brushed her hands together and smirked a little at her temporary triumph.

Ais started to sweat, but not from exhaustion. How strong is Thorn? She wasn't keen to find out.

"I don't think I can keep this up longer," Ais admitted.

Thorn nodded. "Neither can I."

An explosion of warmth erupted from their side. Turning their heads, they saw Blaze shooting from the sky like a comet and Tanah running towards them, using the androids as a platform. The pair of twins locked eyes, and they exchanged words silently.

"Stay safe." Ais replaced her hood and held up her hand. Blaze grinned wildly as both their palms met, and their bodies merged into one in a veil of blue and red.

Frostfire burst from the scene in her female form, freezing and burning down the androids at the same time. Tanah stared at her, snorting. They finally grew balls.

A rifle appeared in her hand as she was suspended in mid-air. Aiming at the big shots, she fired and explosions of ice and fire obscured the army. She cocked the rifle and fired like nobody's business.

"That's so cool!" Thorn yelled.

Frostfire dove down to the army, switching to his male form. In his hands were shields of blades that rotated, driving the enemy back effectively.

"Guess all that training paid off," he muttered.

Taufan stared down to the source of the lightning and light. The figures were moving too fast for him to catch with his eyes. Androids were shredded before they even realized what was going on. The pair moved with perfect synchronization, as if they'd spent all their lives by each other's side.

Who were they? The only elementals that possessed them were Petir and Cahaya. Petir woke up, sure... but Cahaya? He's been dead for three years.

He avoided all the chaos and descended into an abandoned alleyway. His hoverboard de-crystallized into air and his feet landed on the ground with a soft thud.

There was a faint red glow at the end. Eyes squinting, he followed the dim source of illumination.

His heart stopped.

"What the hell?" He rushed to Petir's side. She was propped against the wall, unconscious. Red veins glowed faintly at the edge of the black arm guard. He'd seen this once, and he knew what he was dealing with. Someone was using Halilintar again, after all these years.

Does that mean Petir still hasn't recovered?

But who was summoning her?

The ground suddenly quaked, and the explosion of androids falling into the abyss erupted from outside. The ground jerked and the ground shook like something had exploded underground.

Everything fell silent. Not even the fights previously held any more battle.

What the heck was that?

Before he could look around, a hand was delivered to the back of his neck, and he was knocked out cold.

Solar stared at Taufan as he collapsed to the ground, Halilintar catching him before he fell flat on his face. That wasn't the best method he would use, but they couldn't afford to let anyone know about their plan. Not just yet. They needed Tanah's help for this.

He was almost certain that the quake was Gempa, but there was no sure-fire way of ensuring that. Nodding to Halilintar, he motioned for her to return to Petir's body. She disappeared in a red blur and Petir opened her eyes.

"How long was I out?" Petir asked.

Solar looked at his watch. "An hour, give or take," he muttered. "How long was it for you?"

Petir frowned faintly. She seemed uncertain. "Around a few seconds."

Solar paled. He knew that feeling, and he hated it. He would have to get Petir cured from this godforsaken experiment before this controller fell into wrong hands.

"What happened to him?" Petir stared at the unconscious Angin.

"I set the GPS so the others can track him. We have to go." Solar placed Angin's phone back into his pocket.

Petir nodded, eyes still on the wind manipulator. Solar held out his hand for Petir, and she accepted it. The two disappeared in a flash of white sparks.

Everyone present gawked at the gyrokinetic. He'd just used his powers, and it was only for a moment. The ground split open and the island quaked, and all the androids were destroyed in mere seconds.

Reverse Gempa rolled his eyes at their stares. "You guys looked too pitiful."

Frostfire split back into Blaze and Ais. Both of them exchanged glances and regarded the earth elemental warily.

Thorn checked her phone. Her brother had sent his location, but why? Knowing him, she'd better get to him. She fled towards his area before anyone else could stop her.

"So you do have a heart," Blaze grumbled.

"Don't get used to it." Reverse Gempa waved his hand in dismissal.

"Why do you look 19?" Ais demanded.

Reverse Gempa stared at her with red eyes. "Because I am." He reverted to Tanah. "Whatever experiment those shits pulled on me, it slowed my aging process by two times. I'll live 'til 200 years old and I'll be there at your funerals."

The twins exchanged glances in disbelief. Then again, Petir was still 17. The idea of having one's aging process messed up wasn't as far-fetched as it may seem. The next thing they knew, they'd be three-year-olds again.

"So what are you gonna do now?" Blaze called. "You can't just walk away from this."

Tanah stuck his hands into his pockets and turned from them. "Watch me."

He walked away.

Blaze gestured wildly at Tanah's disappeared figure to Ais, who whacked him upside the head for being dramatic.

"Come on. We have to get out of here before anyone sees us."

The two reverted to their base forms and escaped the scene with a stolen car.
