Studio A. 6:34
The party was in full swing. Over in one corner, Henry and Summer were acting all lovey-dovey. In the center, Piper, Richelle, Ozzy and Kingston were dancing (for a change) and Davis, Jacquie and Kenzie were off to one side. Noah leant against the wall, sipping his drink and absentmindedly talking to Emily. Summer lightly kissed Henry's cheek, and led him over to dance. At this point, Piper had sat down cross-legged on a cube, reading a message she'd got from 'Rebecca'. Tick-tock, tick-tock, Piper. The clock is ticking, Piper! She shuddered, pulling her floral print jacket tighter around her. "Cold?" A voice asked from behind her. "No, not really," She murmured. "Too bad, Finn might be willing to warm you up!" Richelle laughed, sitting beside her. "We broke up," Whispered Piper, and the smile died on Richelle's face. "Oh, I'm sorry," The blonde comforted her, handing Piper a drink. The drink was a suspicious blood colour. "Oh! That's mine!" Richelle cried, hurriedly swapping the drinks. Piper laughed as Richelle sipped her wine. "I'm not in the mood for drinking alcohol Richelle!" Piper joked, before drinking her water. Jacquie glared over at Piper and Richelle laughing, and silently clenched her fists. Kenzie followed Jacquie's gaze. "That's it, I'm talking to Piper. I don't know what's got into her, but someone has to take action!" Kenzie declared, marching over before the sisters could restrain her. Davis and Jacquie exchanged a worried look, before rushing after Kenzie. The headstrong girl reached Richelle and Piper before Jacquie and Davis could reach her. "Hey, Piper. A word, please?" Kenzie asked, her braids tumbling around her shoulders. Piper agreed and followed Kenzie out of the room, tossing her now empty plastic cup into a nearby bin. Once they were in the corridor, Kenzie crossed her arms, her expression becoming instantly more serious. "First of all, why were you in the car with Logan, that dirty, lying son of a-" A few J-troupers - led by Presley - ran past, causing Kenzie to cut herself off. "His older brother dropped me here," Piper explained, not bothering to hide her disgust. "Ricky is dating Laura, my older sister. Around halfway through the journey, that utter creep kissed me!" Piper was shaking with anger now, enraged by Logan's stupid attitude. Kenzie grabbed Piper's wrists, urgency controlling her actions. "Did anything else happen?" Kenzie asked, giving Piper's wrists a little shake for emphasis. "L-logan invited my family round to his house t-tomorrow," Piper stuttered, surprised by Kenzie's outburst. Kenzie let go of Piper, and pressed her fingers to her temples. "I'm so sorry, I overreacted." Kenzie apologized quickly, not used to it. "Going back to the party now. You?" She continued, tossing her braids casually over one shoulder, as if nothing had happened. Piper shook her head, so Kenzie shrugged and walked down the corridor, leaving Piper on her own.
Once back in the studio, Jacquie rushed over to her. "Kenzie! Where on earth have you been? Me and Davis have been looking everywhere for you!" Jacquie mock scolded, but secretly relieved that Kenzie was okay. Despite not wanting to admit it, Noah's messages had really unnerved her. "Hey!" Finn cried, walking over to them. He had a My Little Pony sticker on the hem of his top, and Kenzie reached over and pulled it off. "Ugh, my little sister attacked me with them before I left the house," Finn explained, taking the Fluttershy sticker from Kenzie and stuffing it into his pocket. "Speaking of sisters," Jacquie began, eyes hurriedly scanning the room. "Have you see Da-""NO!" Davis screamed, throwing herself in front of the trio, less than a micro second after a gun shot sounded. It happened so fast, Davis crumpling and hitting the ground, the dancers in chaos. Someone was screaming. Jacquie realised it was her. Davis's eyes flickered open and closed, her hand resting on the wound in her stomach. Sirens. Outside there were sirens. The blood flooded from the bullet hole, seeping through her T-shirt, dripping onto the ground. Footsteps approached her and medics were on the scene. One of them scanned Jacquie for any visible injuries, as she was covered in blood. All Jacquie could really do was cry. Tears flooded from her eyes and splashed onto the ground. Richelle wrapped her arms around her distraught friend as the paramedics carried Davis away on a stretcher. The police had arrived by this time, gathering everyone into Studio 1 as Studio A was taped off as a crime scene. Henry had Summer in his lap, who was clinging to him tightly, as if her life depended on it. Emily was talking to a police officer in hushed tones, and Noah was sitting with Ozzy and Kingston, all three of them stony faced and silent. At first glance, Richelle couldn't see either Finn, Kenzie or Piper, but she soon spotted Kenzie and Finn muttering together, both occasionally stealing worried glances at Piper who sat hunched up in a corner, rocking herself back and forth. There was a dark stain on Piper's sleeve. Blood? Richelle then recalled some of the wine she'd handed Piper earlier splashing out of the cup. That was it. Richelle wasn't the only one who had noticed the substance on Piper's jacket. A burly police officer had noticed too. The policeman crouched in front of Piper, saying something Richelle didn't catch. Piper shook her head. The policeman frowned and spoke loud enough for Richelle to hear this time. "Take the jacket off," The policeman demanded. Piper shook her head once again. Richelle knew what was under Piper's sleeves: a mess of scar tissue from her previous cutting disorder. But Richelle also knew that disobeying a police officer wouldn't end well. The policeman sighed. Richelle let go of Jacquie and inched forward slightly. No sudden movements Richelle. She thought to herself, hoping to get close enough to put herself between Piper and the police officer should she need to. At this point, the dancers were watching the spectacle unfold, whilst Emily and the other police officers remained oblivious. "Give me the jacket girl. This isn't a game." The policeman growled, and his scowl deepened when Piper shook her head yet again. Richelle moved closer. Quick as a flash, the policeman's hand moved to his belt. Richelle froze as she thought he was reaching for his gun. Instead, he pulled out a pair of shining silver handcuffs, before promptly snapping them onto Piper's wrists. "You're under arrest for refusing to co-operate with the authorities," The police officer spoke, frustration glinting slightly in his eyes. He pulled Piper to her feet, and the dancers watched as he proceeded to lead her out of the room. Luckily, before he could reach the door, one of his co-workers, a nearly bald man of around 30, stopped the man arresting Piper by placing a hand on his arm. "She's just a kid, probably doesn't understand," The half bald police officer explained to the seemingly younger one. After what seemed like an eternity, the burly police officer removed Piper's handcuffs, before flicking out his notepad and jotting down a few things. The nearly bald police officer made Piper remove her jacket (which she did without any protests) before the one who had previously arrested her got her full name, address and parents phone number. He jotted all this down in his notepad, and dismissed Piper to sit down with her fellow dancers. Shaking slightly, Piper half sat, half collapsed on the floor. Richelle stared at her in disbelief for a moment or two, before returning to Jacquie. "Dancers, listen up!" Emily clapped her hands together, instantly earning everyone's attention. "The police are investigating the incident, and I have given them your files. Some of you may be called in to take a statement," Emily glanced at Piper as she said that, "So tell the police exactly what you know, and avoid any more trouble. You may all go home now." Emily finished. The dancers obediently went to the car park, where Piper noticed Summer pass a cloth wrapped package through the window of a black ford focus. The car looked strangely familiar, although Piper couldn't place it. One by one, the dancers all cleared off, leaving Piper alone in the car park. Her mom's car pulled up a couple of minutes later, and Piper collapsed in the front seat. "Piper, baby, I heard what happened," Deborah soothed, placing her hand in her daughter's face. "Do you want to talk about it?" Her mum pressed, worry glittering through her brown eyes that Piper had inherited. Piper shook her head, and they drove off in silence.
