All of Adam's focus was on the arrival of Alpha Vincent and Damien who were set to arrive within the week. Though he hid it well, Leora didn't have to see to know that Adam was particularly tense about the whole arrangement.
She knew from the previous meeting that this was to discuss a territory dispute, so she could see how things could potentially get heated.
Leora didn't want Adam to worry so much; they both needed to blow off steam. However, the man was way too tense to accept her comfort. Leora would never admit it, but his rejection stung; the last time she had been rejected was in Year 5 when she had confessed to Alex Miller that she had been crushing on him for at least a year.
He had turned her away coldly with the excuse, that he 'didn't fancy blind chicks'. Suffice to say it had left a sour taste in her mouth and an embarrassment that seemed to linger. She was lucky then because she had the chance to run away when it was decided that she would be homeschooled instead.
Unfortunately for Leora, running away wasn't an option this time. Of course, Adam was no Alex Miller; she was just over reacting which is the last thing that either of them needed at the moment. She frowned momentarily as she pushed away the lingering hurt.
Adam didn't miss her momentary discomfort, but decided not to comment on it. He was concerned for her, but didn't want to treat her like a child and prod every time she seemed upset; He trusted that she would speak to him if she needed to.
The man sighed heavily, caressing the back of her neck. The sensation sent shivers down the girls spine, those heavenly tingles spreading across her skin. He could feel the tension in her neck, it was probably a combination of her stress and sleeping uncomfortably on his arm the night before.
He felt exactly the same. He could feel his agitated beast clawing at the edge of his subconscious, demanding to be let out. The feeling of being relentlessly restless was weighing down on him and it was simply exhausting. He needed to get out of his suffocating office; they both did.
He pulled Leora to her feet, looking over her form appreciatively. She had decided to wear an oversized pale pink slouchy sweater along with a pair of black leggings and some ballerina flats. Her sweater has ridden up from her being sat on his lap, and he couldn't stop the way his eyes stopped to look at the way the leggings sculpted her pert little ass.
He cleared his throat when he felt himself stiffen in his pants, trying desperately to think of anything but having her on her hands and knees in front of him. He almost choked on the thought alone.
"Adam are you okay?" Leora questioned, slightly concerned. She couldn't think what would make him stand so suddenly, and his cough too.
Was he getting sick? Could Werewolves even get sick?
"Just fine my Soul," he finally pulled himself together. "I was just thinking that it would be a waste of sunshine to be cooped up inside all day. Would you like to take a walk with me?"
"I would love to," the girl smiled. The thought of being outdoors, of doing something, was a great comfort to her.
The couple linked their arms, deciding to take a leisurely stroll through the pack grounds. They smiled and chatted politely to the members they passed by, but Leora mostly focused on appreciating the feeling of nature in motion around her.
Adam then led them through the woods, the small chatter of the pack grounds fading away. Leora was grateful; she loved the chatter and community that she got to be a part of with the pack but she also enjoyed the small private quiet moments that she spent with her mate.
They were quiet for a while until she spoke: "Why don't you want me to share my knowledge of martial arts?"
Adam held back a sigh, he knew that she would bring it up eventually. He wasn't entirely sure he knew what to say.
