As she lay in a hospital bed, a heart monitor beeped beside her. Romeo sat beside her, head rested in his hands, worry projected across his pale face. Silence failed to substitute the empty awkwardness that accompanied him. The bed covers ruffled and moved and Ally began to wake up. Her eyes flickered open and started to comprehend the environment surrounding her.
"Hey. Hey Ally. How you feeling?"
Romeo's shaky voice showed a clear display of the nerves behind his confident appearance.
"Um, what?" Ally replied as she struggled to come to a realisation of where she was.
"You're in the hospital. You had an accident, but you're okay now."
Ally started to zone back into present reality.
"Ally, we really gotta stop meeting like this", Romeo teased.
"Romeo?"
"Ally?"
"You came with me. Why?"
"If I'm being completely honest, I really don't know. I felt as if I should go; it didn't seem like you had anyone with you to be your company, so I jumped in with you"
"Thank-you Romeo"
"Anytime Ally. I don't think we've formally met. I'm Romeo. I'm down here for the summer; arrived a few days ago. And you are?"
"Ally. I would share my life story but there's not much to say in return to your auto biography you just shared. I came down here yesterday and I'm also here for the summer."
"Well, Ally. Looks life you're stuck with me. Where are you staying?"
"A resort on Parade. You?"
"A rental house in Berton court, just around the corner from the beach you first became a damsel in distress" he mocked.
"Well Romeo. Looks like we might be seeing each other often."
"So it seems, Ally."
