Don't Make Me Eat It

Sauerkraut on my plate,

Sauerkraut I do hate,

Made by mother,

Ate by father,

Why they do it why they bother,

I don't like it don't you see,

I won't eat it you can't make me

Mother says it's good you know,

It makes you stout and makes you grow.

I don't like it so I said,

Send me to my room instead,

And I will stay there until I'm dead,

To sauerkraut I have said no,

You take that sauerkraut and go,

Then you can flush it down the drain,

Then I will be saved from the pain,

Of sauerkraut down in my tummy,

And not feel sick and not feel crummy.

But sauerkraut is not so bad,

Said my mother said my dad,

If you will try you will see,

And maybe like it if that could be,

And trust your mother and your father,

And not take this discussion farther,

So it would make us really glad,

If you would just not be so mad,

And try a little sauerkraut,

Instead of sitting there to pout,

So put a little on your spoon,

For now it's almost half past noon,

So take just one small tiny bite,

And no longer with us fight.

Fine one small bite and nothing more,

Then you will see that I abhor,

This sauerkraut that's on my plate,

This sauerkraut you think so great.

Say this stuff is not so bad,

To eat it now will make me glade,

I should have ate it all along,

So now I can grow up big and strong.
