Boy was the dance floor was crowded! Definitely not my usual scene, but dancing with Taylor was pretty fun. He did some goofy moves in an attempt to make me feel better about my dancing.

It worked.

I did not realize that parties could be this fun! He did some random moves until the Dj cut in. "Alright everyone, let's take wayyyy back to junior high dance classics. Get ready to cha cha real smooth!" The Dj cranked up the volume and colored lights flashed everywhere.

The song began playing and there were a few laughs and groans as everyone hit the dance floor for the old familiar song. Taylor and I did the cha cha slide, macarena, cupid shuffle, and a few other dances together. I did, however, decide to step off of the dance floor when soldier boy came on. I could get away with the other dances, but I could not even tell you the first dance move in solider boy.

"You're leaving the floor already?" Taylor asked with a hint of joking disappointment.

"Yeah, it has been fun! I just do not know solider boy, and I need a break. Go on and steal the show though!" I smiled and gave a wink.

He gave me a slight smile and shrug. "Alright, but you are missing out! I'll catch you in a bit!" He turned and joined his buddies motioning him over.

I looked at my iPhone and it was already eight o'clock. Geeze, when was this band going to get up and play already? I walked around aimlessly until I finally found Callie, who was just now leaving the punch bowl guy.

"Hey girl! Meet any new friends? Punch bowl guy Fin turned out to be a dud. He talks about himself wayyy too much. I was only able to get away when I saw you were close by!" She took my arm quickly as she was talking and dragged me to the other side of the room. I could tell she was ready to get away from Mr Chatterbox over there.

"Actually, I have had a lot of fun. I met and danced with that blonde guy in the peach shirt over there. His name is-" Callie suddenly pulled me into an unoccupied room in the barn and shut the door. She peeked out the curtain and looked back at me questioningly.

"What the heck Cal?" I looked at her inquisitively with my arms cross.

"NO FRICKIN WAY!" She kept opening the door's curtain to look back into the main part of the barn. "Taylor Winston?! As in THE TAYLOR WINSTON??" She looked at me with huge eyes and mouth agape. I continued to stare at her like she had lost her mind. I was really concerned in that moment that she had....

"Uhhh..yeah..." she grabbed my shoulders and began shaking me. Now I am certain she had lost it.

"DO YOU KNOW WHO HE IS?" she stopped shaking me and peered out the window again.

"No, I just met him an hour ago. He seems nice though," I said looking out the curtain thoughtfully.

"Taylor Winston is cousins with Alexa Esmond...well London now. The new, young, hotshot CEO of the NYC Journal!" she exclaimed. Ah, now it clicked. I remember reading an article that a Winston family had moved from NYC to Sugar Grove because they owned a large corporation that makes military grade weaponry. They had chosen to move to Sugar Grove after buying out an oil company several years ago. They converted the old oil facilities into weaponry factories for their business. They saved a lot of money and doubled, nearly tripled their fortune. Also yes, they were cousins with the famous Alexa Esmond. It had made the front page in the Sugar Grove newspaper.

"Woah, that is HIS family?" I said completely shocked. He did not act like he was rich. He was kind and considerate.

"Yes! He is the manager of the band that is playing tonight, and he is best friends with the band's leading man!" she squealed. I bet she hoped that I could get us "in with the band." Callie has always dreamed of being famous. All she has talked about lately is sining in a band and making it big. Little does she know that my biggest dream is making it in the music biz, but the only people that know that are my parents. My biggest problem was that I kept it all a secret. i was too afraid of being rejected. So I decided that I would go along with Callie until she changed her mind again.

"Gin, HE IS HOT! You totally need his number!" she exclaimed with determination.

My mind went back to the guy I had just met. He was nice, but I could only think about books that I had read. He seemed more like a friend than I guy that I wanted to be with. Despite his looks, I just simply did not know him.

"Wait Cal, I just do not think of him that way. I do like him as a friend though," she looked at me a bewildered expression. I wondered if I had killed her with that statement. I was surprised when she shook it off and replied.

"Well, I would give him a chance. I was going to start yelling at you saying that until I remembered our good friend Tricia who happens to be standing by punch bowl guy right as we speak." I groaned as I watched the plastic barbie doll in the short pink dress flirt with the guy. If was hard to watch.

"Haha! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing," Callie laughed at my expression again before continuing. "I would rather you be honest with your feelings than to act like Miss Walking Garbage over there," she pointed to our target of disgust. Tricia King went to our school and treated everyone like dirt. She was born into just as much money as Callie was, but she was much more spoiled than Callie and flaunted everything she had. It was gross.

"Thanks Cal," I said gratefully. "Hey do you want to go out there? It looks like that band is getting ready to play." I motioned towards the door.

"No problem, and you totally read my mind!" She smiled as we headed towards to concert in the main room.
