It's the first day of high-school ever for me. Freshmen year, and how do I spend the first day? Hearing the school's counselors go over the rules and expectations. I get that we're in a new place, and that it's mandatory, but is it really any different from middle school? Rolling my eyes, I looked at the yellow sheet of paper - my schedule. I wasn't here when they were giving tours to the new students, and this school is gigantic. My first period looks to be my freshmen English class. My first class of the day, and I have absolutely no idea where it is.

Before I could look over the rest of my schedule, the assembly was over. Finally. The only bad thing is I'd have to ask someone where this classroom is. Like they'd know, we're all freshmen! Whatever, it's worth a try. Looking around for a friendly face, I spot one grabbing her backpack from the floor. Taking a deep breath, I walked up to her nervously.

"Uh, hey, excuse me. Do you think you can help me find my class?" I asked, in a shy voice.

Surprisingly, she heard me.

"Oh, yeah sure. What's the room number?"

"Room number...?"

Reaching her hand out to my schedule, I gave it to her awkwardly, feeling like an idiot.

"Room number is 1272, Mrs. Guerrero. I have her also, want me to walk with you?"

"Please? I'm bad with directions."

And just like that, she lead me to our class. What are the chances that the one person I asked would just so happen to be going to the same place as myself? Lucky me I suppose. Walking next to her, she seemed shy. Nice, but shy. She was a bit shorter than me, maybe an itch or two. Wasn't too bad looking either.

My thoughts were arrupted when we stepped through the door of our English class, my new classmates talking with their old friends about what they did over the summer. I didn't know anyone due to me moving here only recently. The reason why I moved still kind of gets to me, and I just hope history doesn't repeat itself. The girl walked toward two other girls, leaving me to stand there awkwardly. Quickly, I found a seat by the door and sat silently.

A few more minutes go by till the teacher tells everyone to be seated. Once everyone is, she welcomes everyone to high school, and to her classroom.

"Before I get into my class expectations, I want to do a quick roll call. I know everyone isn't here today, but I want to work on remembering people's faces. So please, when your name is called, raise your hand and say here."

I'm usually last due to my last name. While everyone else was being called, I followed the sound of their voice and the hands rising into the air upon their names being called. Then it became her turn.

"Is Miss Teal here?"

Teal, huh?
