The Bright city lights gleamed, a kaleidoscope of colours painting the sky. the voices of the thousands who roamed the streets was all that could be heard. all was normal except one thing, A boy, he walked alone through the crowds of people, yet his shadow stalked him like vulture hunting its prey. His face was dull, his expression jaded, yet it was clear he was running from something.

he was fearful, scared of someone, and that someone seemed to be inching closer and closer as the night went on. Minute by minute his expression began to change. His face reflected the pain he was experiencing inside, he was running from the past. Seeking something, an escape, solitude. He shuffled through the crowds but was shoved and pushed around like he was non-existent. the talk of those around him constantly building, like an ever-growing mist following his every move. Until it wasn't, he stopped, he stood in front of a building, one which had been burnt and destroyed until all that remained was a shell of broken memories. But it still meant something to him, his mind began to clear yet his heart sank. The solitude he thought he had been chasing his whole life was gone.

The low shallow beats of his heart echoed through the streets like a siren. It was all he could hear. He looked around, the lights where gone, the blank faces which seemed to haunt him had disappeared. He looked back, nothing. He was alone. He sat and the reality he had once thought to exist seemed to fade away around him. His whole life he had been running from something. But that something had led him to find closure, to find solitude. He was running from himself, from the pain built up inside his mind, he was running from doubt, yet it seemed so real. He sat and smiled as the world he had once believed in disappeared, Right in front of his eyes. He had found solitude; he had found himself.
