I walked into the crowded hallway filled with students running around or standing by their lockers. I took a breather and went to my locker, passing by the hormonal teenagers around me. I silently made my way to my locker and put in my combination. Once I was done, I opened my locker and grabbed my textbooks that I need for the day. I hear footsteps coming towards my way, and I came across with a familiar scent or two. I looked up and there was my best friends or you could say the pack standing right in front of me.
" Hey" I said while putting some of my books away to the two boys in front of me.
"Hey Lena, you okay?" Mason asked me and reply by nodding my head with a smile on my face.
" What about you two? I know that last night was scary but it's done. No more worrying about it." I said making them feel relief that this is done.
"I'm good, feel relief that we're done with this. We could go back to our normal life but with some
new abilities." Liam spoke with relief all over his voice. I understand where he coming from. Back then, we don't have worry about all this supernatural things, we only worried about fitting into high school and relationships.
"Yeah, now I could focus on my studies and cheerleading. I already tryout to become captain this year, just waiting for the results. I really work hard to land all of my stunts." I spoke while closing my locker and put my lock back on. I turned around to face the boys standing in front of me.
"Did I hear correctly? Lena McCall as Captain of the cheerleading? You totally will get the spot. You will live the McCall
Legacy in these hallways." Mason spoke with excitement in his voice. Liam nodded as well and speaking again
"Well you going to do great as cheer captain, especially cheering for me at my lacrosse games."
"No duh, Dunbar. Who wouldn't want to cheer my best friend on?" I made sarcastic remark to him and he shove me softy.
We heard the bell ring, telling us that first period was about to began. I had AP Biology 2 with Mason, Liam, Corey and my other best friend who running late now known as Ondina. We made our way to our class and sat in the back, close to the door. I saved a seat for Ondina that was in my right and my left was Liam. Mason and Corey was next to Ondina's seat. Our teacher came in and preparing for our lecture, so we were waiting for him to start the class. I took my notebook and a pen out to get ready for the class. I heard a door open and it made a loud sound that caught the attention of the class and it was Ondina coming in. I smile at her action and taking my bag of her seat.
"You are late Ms. Garcia. Class started 5 minutes ago" Our teacher spoke to her and she looked up with annoyed look on her face.
"Not to be rude or anyway but I am however, you weren't even teaching at all. So that mean class has not began at all. The class starts when the teacher began his lecture. Am I correct Mr. WillowBrooke?" She smiled at the teacher with her comeback and we all looked at him, he had a vein that is about to pop at any second on his forehead. She smirks at the teacher.
" Well, you should be on time to class instead of sleeping in. We have important things to do in life. So I should see you on time tomorrow?" He ask giving annoyed look on his face. Ondina gave a face that means that things are going to get ugly.
"I'm sorry that you have no social life at all, and that you don't have time to be fun but we can't be all buzzkill or loser in all of our lives, now can we?" She said with a little sass in her tone. The teacher looked back at her with a pissed off look.
"Ms. Garcia, we could talk about my social life in detention after school. Now that settle, let's began class." Our teacher spoke and turn around to write something down in the board.
" I can't believe it, he such loser." Ondina spoke to me quietly about what had just happened. I just chuckle at her reaction.
"Well next time be on time, tomorrow I picked you up and we could get our coffee." I said so she won't get another detention for the rest of the year.
"Fine, just because coffee is involved." She spoke while writing down the notes.
"Hey, why were you late anyway?" Liam asked her in low tone.
"I tell you all about it in lunch. It is good news and I think it will be reward for us." She said with a smile on her face and now is our turn to become annoyed. We went back to pay attention to the class.
~Later On~
It was finally lunch time, Ondina and I made our way to the line to get our food. I got a sliced pepperoni pizza with fries on the side with apple juice and banana. We went to our table and sat our food down.
" hey what did you get on the Spanish exam? I got 70, so I kind of passed." Ondina ask while giving a little annoyed sound in her tone.
" I got 99" I said
"Of course, you are always getting As in that class." She said with a duh tone in her voice.
"What can I do, it's not fault that my dad is Hispanic. Beside, I want to learn another language beside English. What about this the next exam coming, I will help you study for it." I said to her because I know she tries her best to get the good grades. She nodded and smile at me. We began talking about tryouts and other things before the rest of the pack joined us.
"Okay, good everyone is here. So remember why I was late?" We all nodded and she continue, " Well I stayed up all night to get these concert tickets and I got 5 tickets to this concert that we are all going to it. As in little reward for us because of the supernatural events. We need to live a life for a little bit." We we're all happy about the choice, I haven't been to concert since I was little.
"What type of concert are we going?" Corey asked
" It's a Latino boy band concert." She said and I looked up at her. Wait a boy band concert? Liam and Mason rolled their eyes while Corey and I were intrigued about this type of festival.
"I don't think no one knows Spanish beside Lena" Mason stated
"I know the lyrics of there songs, I will sent you the link of all there songs and lyrics. You all be fine!"
"A Latino boy band, I'm so in. When is it?" I asked her because I'm down for it and to let loose.
"Yes girl, it's on Friday." She stated while it caught our attention that it was on Friday. Meaning tomorrow, I'm not mad at all but I really don't know what would my mom say about this.
"You mean tomorrow? Now, I don't know what my mom will say." I said my mom doesn't like late notice things. I have to tell her in advance like a few days of advance but let hope she say yes. I want to go and live a Normal life.
"I agree with Lena, it's too short notice and don't you remember what happened to us last night. Just because is done doesn't mean it could all go to good stage again." Liam spoke and probably making a good point. We all feel relief about it being done but we still feel little on edge.
"How couldn't I forget, I had an arrow in my leg! Plus, you never know what could happen, it could go fine or terrible. We would stay alert if anything unusual but come on, let's just have fun okay. Can I count all of you in?" Ondina said, we all couldn't be living fear everyday but we should enjoy it. We would be alert if anything happens.
"We agree" Corey said pointing him and Mason nodding.
" I'm in" I said and we all looked at Liam. Liam looked at all of us and we gave him a looked that say, come on.
"I mean we do deserve a little fun but we have to be alert at all time. Let go." He said and we all cheered.
"Yes, so it's front row and we got vip passes. This is going to be fun." Ondina said.
