Namjoon stopped and listened to his surroundings.
"There are people listening." he said, scowling.
He turned around furiously and the girl who was listening let out a squeal of fright.
"Didn't you hear what I said?," Namjoon asked, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Everyone remained motionless while Namjoon stared at the girl with fury and rage visible in his eyes.
The bell finally rang and people scrambled to their classrooms in lightning speed, avoiding Namjoon's gaze.
"I'll see you later, Soo-yeon!," he said cheerfully, pretending that nothing ever happened.
With that, he ran to his classroom, leaving you.
You also go inside your classroom and thought about what happened.
Then you suddenly had a flashback of when you were a kid, still living with your parents.
You were playing with your older cousin in your room, while your parents were discussing plans with VARE.
"We should just kill them, not waste our time on them trying to reform them." You heard your dad say.
"No, they're already born out of hatred. Don't you pity those creatures?," A female named Miss Nova Castellan said.
"Are we supposed to pity creatures who wreck havoc on the surface of the earth?," Your dad snapped.
"We are." Nova said. "To take someone's life is not like anything that we can just shake off and move on with our lives. They have lives too, for your information."
You didn't hear your dad complain about that.
"Alright." An unfamiliar voice said. "Castellan, please go and fetch Melody and Symphony from school."
"Sir yes, sir." A male voice said.
You went out of your room and stared at your dad in disbelief. Your mom did nothing about what he said, in fact, you thought she's fine with what your father said.
"Why did you say that?," You asked your father, turning heads.
"This is none of your business, Soo-yeon." Your father snapped.
"You volunteered and suggested to kill gemischts , even if you know they are capable of changing." You said loudly.
Your cousin goes out of your room and made you go back inside.
"Why'd you do that, Soo-yeon?," Your cousin asked you in disbelief.
"It's not just to kill creatures who have lives, and my father suggested it!," You exclaimed. "I'm ashamed to be a part of a family who doesn't care about others' lives at all!,"
You broke down in tears and your cousin was trying her best to comfort you.
"Miss Kang?," The voice of Mr. Ban echoed in your mind. "Miss Kang, please pay attention."
You looked up at him, and you catch Melody looking at you.
You shot an angry look at Mr. Ban and he snickered while the other students were looking at you.
