Sitting at the table by herself humming a sad Jhene Aiko song, she waited for her best friend. She sat in the caffe with a check mini skirt and a long sleeve t-shirt from a college she didn't even attend. Her feet clad in maroon booties that not only matched the writing on her shirt but her lipstick. The dark wine color he just couldn't seem to take his eyes off.
Sitting with his mate sipping his coffee, watching her and pretending to be listening to his friend. He felt bad sure, but he couldn't help himself. Her poised stature, her presence demanded attention, his attention. He eyes worked from the bottom up her maroon boots and the white socks peeking from them, her long legs, her dark skin tell him she probably tasted like salted caramel. He licked his lips and continued to her grey monochrome check skirt, and the grey long sleeve shirt she had tucked into it.
His eyes dropped down to her thighs for a quick glance when her leg shifted giving him a peek at her newly exposed skin. He cleared his throat and nodded slightly so Adam would think he was still listening.
His eyes finally finding her face. The baby hairs on her forehead styled to perfection, the rest pulled back into a bun. Her high cheekbones chiseled out, her could see her eyelashes laying on them from where he sat all the way across the room. Her lips and that damned lipstick. He wanted to know her in the most intimate of ways. He wanted whirlwind romance and ecstasy with her.
"I'm going to the toilet." Adam says catching Jordan's attention
He nodded barely taking his attention off his favorite stranger. The moment alone got his gears turning and before he understood what was happening he legs had brought him to a standing position and he was walking over to her. Noticing her dainty hands holding her cup of tea and the deep but bright cobalt blue fingernails she had. And for some reason the subtle pop of color brought smile to his face. He sat down in front of her, watching as her sultry brown eyes snapped to him in shock. Her lips forming in a pout as she waited for him to say something.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you, I just wanted you to know that you happen to be the most beautiful woman I've laid eyes on in a long time." He expressed to her
Her shocked face softening at his words, she sunk back into her seat under the handsome man's gaze. His eyes giving her a once over. The heat from blushing creeping up her neck to her cheeks and ears, she may be black but her skin color not dark enough to hide her reddening face.
"Thank you." She speaks out shocking herself with the confidence in her voice but not showing it.
Hearing her voice had brought a smile to his face though.
"How inappropriate would it be if I asked for your number?" He asked silently proving to her the maybe chivalry wasn't dead.
"Not inappropriate at all." She responds holding out her hands for his phone, he hands it to her of course. Enjoying the sight of her putting her number in his phone.
The both of them smiling as she hands him his phone back, hands grazing, eyes never leaving the others. He glances down at her name.
"Penelope." He says it out loud making a face as if he was impressed by it. And growing up she hated her name but the way it rolled off his tongue mixed with his Scouse accent told her she had a lot to reconsider.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Jordan Henderson, my friends called me Hendo. You can call me whatever you want." He smiles as he hears the giggle leave her mouth, and what a beautiful mouth it was.
"Well Jordan, it was nice to meet you too. I hope I see you again." She speaks to his standing figure
He smiles holding up his phone.
"I'll make sure of it." And with that he's walking back to his table, to his friend. The both of them glancing at her and she pretends not to notice. Her friend finally walking in taking Jordan's old spot. Penelope sparing him one last glance as he and his friend head to the door.
The cute wave from Jordan enough to caused her face to flush red again.
