Alessandra's POV
The time came by quick that I had to go meet Derek. I really didn't want to but I have to see what he needs to say. My curiosity is growing by the minute. I slide on my shoes from earlier and grab my keys heading out the door. I type the address in my phone and take off.

•30 minutes later
I get there and see Derek sitting on the front of his car looking over the whole city.

" you know this place is really hard to find, even GPS was confused." I said laughing slightly making things not so tense

I walk over to him and stand next to him looking over the city.

" so why did you wanna meet here?" I ask him as he still makes no word

" you remember what deal dean made that go your mother killed right?" He asked looking at me

" I mean he never told my dad and I what the deal was he just said everything was his fault and he cut a deal with the devil." I sighed

Derek scooted over and patted the front of his car and I took the seat closely next to him. I could smell his intoxicating cologne and felt myself start to get lost with it, but quickly snapped myself out of it.

" my dad offered your brother I don't even know how much money to betray your family and join his mafia, your brother being stubborn well declined the offer. My dad doesn't take no for an answer to nicely, as you saw. Well apparently your dad found out what was going on and bathed in shooting up the place looking for your brother. My mother got shot 4 times in the process." He said all to fast.

My jaw dropped. Dean was really gonna betray the family name all for money? Something he has too much of now? This makes no sense. I feel Derek tense up next to me and it makes me feel uneasy.

" well when my dad found out yours killed my mother that's when he went after your mom and killed her. But yet my dad has been saying you have the answers he needs." He said sighing

" yeah you mentioned that what three times now? Derek why am I really here." I said standing up folding my arms

" that's the thing he doesn't want answers he wants you. He says that by you joining your brother will want to join then take revenge on your dad." He spoke looking at me with a poker face that I couldn't read.

" he already got revenge! He killed my fucking mother in front of my dad and I! Are you kidding?! What else does he need?" I spit pacing back and forth.

All of this wasn't making any sense what is Derek trying to get at?

" basically my dad wants to take out your entire family and claim the throne as top mafia house." He said and I couldn't believe what I was hearing

" and you're not gonna do anything about it?!" I said then realizing what I just said

" all I can do is protect the first stepping stone bc without you he can't get to your brother or dad bc you're their weakness." He said standing up coming in front of me

My body froze and muscles clenched up unable to move. We were inches apart and he lifted my face up to look at him.

" I know this is so wrong but I want to protect you, your family never did anything wrong. It was all a mistake because your dad wanted to protect his son." He said and I looked down

" you could get killed for this.." I spoke softly feeling nervous by how close he was and how my guard was slowly being put down.

" I don't care, my dad has lost his mind to the power why do you think I sell drugs and shit without him." He said and I looked back up at him surprised

" so you're a drug dealer?" I asked

" well I sell more than just drugs but mainly yes. I want nothing to do with him at this point and when he told me about this plan a little bit ago I had to find you I needed to tell you." He said softly bringing his hand up to my face

I didn't know what to do or think but being here in this moment with Derek Luh felt right even though it was oh so fucking wrong. I know what they say " never trust an enemy" but I don't think Derek would be telling me this if he wanted to help his dad with the plan.

" Alessandra.. let me protect you, I know you don't want to tell your family and you probably should, but they won't be able to do anything." He said wrapping me in his arms and I felt even more surprised and confused but there was another feeling. A feeling like we fit together

" how will you protect me when you can't be around me 24/7 because if your dad finds out we will all be dead most likely." I said in his chest and he pulled away with a small genuine smile

" get in your car, follow me." He said and I did as he said to do and followed him

A few minutes down the road and we pull up to this gorgeous house, it wasn't too big and wasn't too small but just right especially for where we were at.

" safe house." He said as I got out of my car

" what?" I asked standing beside him

" it's a safe house. You can tell your dad you're moving out, I'll do the same. We can move here, don't worry it's 2 bedroom 3 bath." He chuckled as he opened the house door letting me inside

He turned on the lights and it was stunning dark wood floors all white granite counters spacious kitchen, living, and dining room. It was beautiful

" so what do you say, can I protect you or will you figure this out on your own which will most likely result in you and your family getting killed." He said and after I took a few steps I turned around and looked at him.

" fine. But don't think you're getting anything out of this, I'm doing this so my family and I will stay safe." I said

We talked about when we were moving in and how everything will work out. I really hope this works. The last thing I need is my whole family possibly including myself getting killed over someone who cares about nothing but power and fortune.
