Silence is Never Golden: Kaito x Dandere (shy) reader

You were sitting in the back of the class doing your classwork. Valentine's day was coming up, and you wanted to do something for your crush, Kaito. You've had a crush on him since your first day, but you've never had the courage to talk to him. He was really popular and you thought you may not be good enough for him. Instead, you isolated yourself from him since you might wind up saying something stupid in front of him. The build up was killing you on the inside, and you really wanted to confess.

[Time skip]

You were assigned a project in your reading class, and you couldn't believe who you were partnered up with! You were Kaito's partner! You started shaking, and everyone saw. "Oh no," you thought, "everyone's watching me!"

Kaito sat with you and you heard a girl with short brown hair mutter, "Aw, I wanted to be Kaito's partner! I don't think that small fry can handle him!"

"Did you want to come to my house to work on the project?" Asked Kaito.

"Small fry..." You thought sadly.

"Hello? Anyone home?" Said Kaito playfully.

You came back to reality, and you didn't know what he said. "H'm?" You ask.

"Did you want to come to my house to work on the project?" He repeated.

You nodded silently. "How does after school work?" He asked.

You nodded again. He pulled out a piece of paper and wrote his address on it...and his number! You were shaking like crazy, and that concerned him a bit. "Are you cold?" He asked?

You froze up, and started blushing. Kaito took off his long white coat and put it on you. It was so big, and it smelled like ice cream! The bell rung, and you immedietly gave Kaito his coat back, and scurried out of class.

[Time skip]

You arrived at Kaito's house, and you were scared to knock. You knocked on the door nervously, but no answer. You rung the bell, and no one came. "Maybe he's not here..." You thought.

You turned to walk away, but the door opened before you could leave. "Leaving so soon?" Laughed Kaito.

You froze up, and turned back around. He wasn't wearing his coat, and you saw he wore a black shirt, and blue jeans. You blushed a little. "You okay?" Asked Kaito, kinda concerned, "You seem to get cold a lot. Come on in!"

You entered Kaito's house and it was well furnished. You silently unpacked your materials, and you and Kaito started working on your project.

[Time skip: 3 hours]

"Yay, it's done!" Cried out Kaito in amusement.

You smiled since it was done very well. Kaito hugged you very hard and it took you by surprise. His hug was so strong! You smiled and hugged back. You heard a beeping sound though. Kaito looked at his watch and gasped, "Crap, I'm late! I'm sorry (Y/N), but I have to go!"

Kaito quickly got up and readied himself. Feeling tense, you asked softly, "Where are you going?"

Kaito was kinda surprised since you didn't really speak to him the whole time. "I'm supposed to meet Meiko an hour ago for a date, but I must have gotten sidetracked by our project!" He said.

You packed up your things and went out the door yourself. "Do you want a ride home?" Asked Kaito.

You nodded no. "I insist!" He said.

You denied again. "Okay. But it might rain, so take this."

He handed you a blue umbrella, and you continued to leave, but he said to you, "(Y/N), you have a cute voice. Share it with others!"

You blushed and smiled at him, and you went out the door.

[The next day]

It was finally Valentine's day and you knew today would be a good time to confess, but yesterday...

You and Kaito presented your project, and Kaito had to do most of the talking, and unfortunately, it affected your participation grade. You cried about it for a bit, but Kaito comforted you. "It's okay. I understand if you don't want to speak." He said calmly, "I had no problem speaking for you."

You hugged him very hard, tears streaming down your hot face. However, you didn't notice that behind Kaito, your classmate Meiko was scowling at the two of you.

[Time skip: After school]

You went to go home, still feeling upset, when an intoxicating smell hit your nose. "Ugh," you thought, "what's that smell?"

You felt a hand grab your wrist tightly, their nails digging into your skin. The smell got stronger. You turned and saw it was Meiko! She dragged you into the girls bathroom, and no one was in there. "You got some nerve b**ch!" Sneered Meiko. "You made Kaito late for our date because of your stupid project! You're trying to steal Kaito from me aren't you? AREN'T YOU?!"

"Meiko...please..." You said timidly.

"Trying to speak up, small fry?" Meiko gloated.

She punched you in the face, and slammed you into the wall so hard, the wall cracked! You screamed in pain as Meiko beat the crap out of you. "Help me, someone!" You screamed.

"(Y/N)? Meiko?" A familiar voice said.

You tried to open your eyes, one of them which got completely blackened. Kaito. He saw you completely battered and Meiko grabbing you by the throat on the wall. "K-Kaito." You choked out.

Meiko released your neck, and you collapsed to the ground, coughing and wheezing. "Meiko, why were you hurting (Y/N)?" Asked Kaito angrily.

"She tried to break us apart by making you miss our date last night!" She cried out.

"I lost track of time, not her." Kaito said angrily at Meiko.

He walked over to you and saw you were beaten and bruised. "And that smell," he stated, "You're drinking on school grounds! Meiko, do not talk to me or (y/n) again!" He shouted.

Meiko ran out of the girls bathroom, only to get suspended for drinking on school grounds, as well as for fighting you. "K-Kaito..." You gasped.

"I'm here for you (y/n)." Said Kaito picking you up.

He carried you out of the girls bathroom and took you to his house. He patched you up and you slowly got better. He put ice cream containers on your cuts since it was the only thing he had. "(Y/n)," said Kaito, "There was something I wanted to tell you yesterday, but never got to tell you."

You looked up weakly and heard what he had to say. "I think I like you." He confessed.

You gasped, coughing in result. "From the moment you and I were partnered up, I knew it was you." He said to you.

"I like you too..." You say weakly.

You closed your eyes, and there were tears flowing out of them. Kaito was crying too. He stroked your (h/l) (h/c) hair, and he kissed your forehead.

[Time skip: Summer vacation]

"Ready to go?" Kaito called.

"You bet!" You said cheerfully.

In the few months you and Kaito have been together, you broke through your shy barrier and felt very confident in yourself. "I can't wait for our trip! Is the beach fun?" You ask.

"You bet! You'll love it there!" He said.

You and Kaito went on your summery paradise, awaiting what will happen next.
