No longer home

You couldn't see anything...
You could hear voices...
Yet everything was black...

                 Slowly yet surely you began to come back to your senses. Your sight came back and you shivered as you rubbed your arms. It was so cold. Looking around you could see the light frost on the glass. You knew it was a cryo-pod! Looking around you began to push on the doors. It was no use. The door just wouldn't budge. You began to panic more as you could make out two figures walking towards Nate's pod. "This one. Here" The one figure said. Nodding the male went over and opened Nate's pod. "Is it over? Are we safe?" Nate asked in a bit of fear his voice slightly muffled. 

                          The next few things went by quickly for you. The one in what seemed like a hazmat suit tried to take Shaun but Nate refused. Soon, a gunshot went off and Nate went limp. Tears welled up in your eyes as you covered your mouth. The had just killed Nate. Nate now had a bullet hole in between his eyes. Shaking, your panic only worsened as you felt the pod getting cold once more and with it, you lost consciousness.

                    The next time you woke up, you let out a wave of coughs and you haunched forward. That was a mistake because as you did, the door let loose and opened up, sending you to the ground. Coughing, you looked up to see Nora had the same thing happen to her. Looking at you she crawled to you "(Name)!" she called as she hugged you tightly with tears in her eyes. "He's...gone...Isn't he?" she asked as she referred to Nate. Slowly you nodded sadly and she looked down. 

                 "We need to find a way out of here," you said as you slowly got up. Nodding and wiping her eyes, Nora got up as well. Slowly, you both headed out of the room. But you practically screamed when a giant cockroach lunged at you. Nora quickly stepped up as she began to beat it to death taking all her anger out on the poor insect. When she knew it was dead she took your arm and began to lead you through the vault.

Eventually, you found two revolvers so Nora took one and you took the other. Everything else was just a blur. Was everyone Dead? what about your parents? You could only hope that the radiation didn't stretch out that far.

                         Skeletons were also littered on the ground and it didn't really help your nervousness at all. "Is there really no one left?" You mumbled sadly as you put a hand to your mouth, tears forming in your eyes. How long were you in that pod?!

                   Eventually, you found a terminal and you ran over to it as Nora was defending by shooting the incoming radroaches. When you opened it up you picked up two pip boys. Handing one to Nora you plugged in the piece that went into the panel and Nora slammed her fist on the large red button.   

                 All that could be heard was a lot of scratching as the door opened. Many thoughts formed once more. What happened to the surface? Would it look the same? What you missed. Sighing, you and noa quickly went to the elevator. "You doing okay? " you asked Nora. She had been so quiet this far. You froze as you saw tears falling down her face, her hair covering her face. Gently you pulled her into a hug. Almost immediately she hugged back, crying on your shoulder. 

                "I'm going to kill that bastard. I'll get revenge for both Nate and Shaun. " she sobbed. You gave a small smile as you nod. 

                 "And I'm going to be here to help. I'll help you through this" you reassured. Nora smiled as she nods. Grabbing your hand Nora pulled you onto the elevator.
The sun was bright. Almost too bright. You had to squint your eyes to see. "come on" You said as you began to walk down the hill. A shiver went down your spine as you tried to ignore the skeletons on the ground. Moving forward you both went into the small neighbourhood and something grey caught your eye.
