The pitter-patter of the rain woke me up from my sleep. I opened my eyes to see city lights that normally shined bright as stars dimmed by the overcast of dark clouds. As I stared out the window, I readjusted myself in the back of the yellow cab that was taking me to Boise Airport. The drive to the airport was about an hour from my little hometown of Cascade, and the rain must have put me to sleep.

It wasn't much longer until I was exiting the cab and making my way with two large bags stuffed with all of my hopes and dreams.

The airport wasn't that busy seeing as it was a quarter till midnight. I checked my bags and made it through TSA with no problem. As a first-time flier, I was doing pretty good on my own.

I finally found my gate after walking around in circles for twenty minutes with the help of a kind man. The plane was there already, and the rain had stopped. It was a larger sized plane, but there didn't seem to be that many people waiting to board.

"Flight 2789 to Los Angeles, California, now boarding." Said a lady over the intercom.

Like moths to a flame, tens of people rushed to be first in line. Where were all these people a couple of minutes ago? I moved to make my way to the back of the line like the first-time flier I am, but a man stopped me. "You can cut in front of me." He said with a smile.

"Thank you so much. You're so kind."

"Anything for a pretty girl like yourself." He replied. I forced a smile back at him and made sure to move away from him slightly. Thanks to 'friendly man' I made it to the front in minutes.

"Have a nice flight." The desk attendant lady said.

"Thank you."

I walked down the long cold corridor that led to the planes' door. Standing in the doorway were three flight attendants who each greeted me with smiles.

Once I stepped inside the plane, the air became different. It's hard to explain, but it made me almost feel as though I was locked in a closet. My seat was towards the back of the plane, so I had a long way till I got there. As I walked down the aisle, I felt eyes all over me that it made me hold my breath.

Row 29 finally appeared, and I took my seat in seat C. Thankfully, I had a window seat. I watched some men load the plane with bags, and I tried to see if I could spot my two large leopard print bags. My concentration was broken; however, by the stranger who plopped down next to me.

"Excuse me, miss?" the stranger said. I turned my head, and my eyes landed on a blonde with dark oversized glasses.

"Yes?"

"Hi. I'm Macy Evers." She stuck her hand out, and I noticed her excessively long nails. I shook her hand with a smile.

"Hi. I'm Flora Valenti."

Macy took off her glasses and began rummaging around in her bag. After a while, she pulled out a small card. "Here." She said as she handed me a card. "Call me when you get situated."

She placed her glasses back on and stood from the seat and made her way back into the aisle. "If you can pose as pretty as you look, you may have a very successful future."

I watched her as she walked away, shocked. What the fuck just happened. The card read: Macy Evers: NEXT Models Management Recruiter. The plane hasn't even taken off yet, and I've already been in contact with a recruiter! If I wasn't excited before, I am now!

LA won't know what hit her.
