crazy stupid life (Ricky Horror fanfiction)

Chapter 4

Shouts POV

I managed to go through the rest of school with minimal contact with people. As I'm walking out the front doors of the school to go home I see Ricky talking to a group of guys I've never seen before, I walk past them head down trying not to be noticed. But today is my lucky day and Ricky calls out to me "hey wait up! Do you want a ride home? I don't mind at all" he flashes that million dollar smile at me but I just quickly shake my head and hop on my board and head home

On the way home I stop at a small cafe I go to everyday. On the outside it looks really run down so most people don't come in. But, the inside is really nice and has a homey feel to it, brick walls with wooden floors and low lighting. There's couches around the walls along with random artwork scattered throughout. Melissa gives me a friendly greeting as I smile and wave back she asks "so the usual it is??" And I just nod my head as she heads to the kitchen. I set my bag on the floor and sit on the bar stool as Melissa comes back with a chocolate shake and crisp fries. Melissa is one of those special people where her inner beauty is so big it just radiates out, she's in her early 40's and very tan with long black hair that comes all the way to her hips, she has then really dark brown eyes that somehow always seem to sparkle. She's the closest thing I have to a friend and I want to keep it that way

As I sit at the bar dipping my fries into my shake Melissa goes about sweeping while asking me questions about my day at school. And I wondered if I should tell her about Ricky and Jake, so I wrote down a summary of what happened, gathered some money and left them both by my now finished food and waved goodbye to Melissa as I made my way home.

When I finally got home no one else was here so I just went up to my bed and fell asleep not even bothering with my homework
