Chapter Three
To say that I was nervous was an understatement, it felt as if every pore of my body was leaking unnaturally amount of sweat. I just prayed that he wouldn't notice it the fact that I looked like a boiled lobster.
I'd never wanted to impress a guy so badly as I did with him. Something about him just drew me to him. I never thought that love at first sight was something that actually existed, just something those dumb romance movies would make you believe in order for them to profit off it. But the way he looked at me, God it made me want to fall into a melting pile on the floor. Maybe it was real.
Yeah and dragons are real
"You're unbelievably cute," Alexander said and brought me back into real life instead of my head where I was over analyzing every move that I made.
"I've never done something like this before" I chuckled out nervously. He raised one of his bushy eyebrows with a glint in his eyes that could make any girl fall on their knees. "Never been on a date before?"
Date? Is that was this was? A date?
The idea of this insanely attractive guy being remotely interested in any other way then a quick booty call was like someone pouring a cold bucket of water on top of me. A date?
We haven't been on one of those before, my inner Gollum told me.
A nervous laugh slipped past my lips which I'm sure sounded like an autotuned queef. I could feel my face getting redder by the second. Not one of those cute blushes that they describe in those romance books, no that wasn't it. It was more like a 'ginger laying in the sun without sunscreen for three hours type of blush.
"A date? Is that was this is?" I asked nervously whilst avoiding eye contact with him. I didn't want to look him in the eye whilst he was going to laugh at me and tell me how much of an idiot I was being.
A 15/10 guy like him going out with an anti-social being that avoids people as much as I possibly could, no I didn't stand a damn chance on going on a date with him.
Alexander shrugged his broad shoulders before taking a sip of his coffee. "If you want it to be," He said
He looked at me with a boyish smirk knowing damn well what my answer would be. My face, despite desperately trying to control it, would give me away a mile away.
"Yeah" I whispered softly not daring to face his burning gaze "yeah I do".
His face lit up in a broad smile, not like the ones I had previously seen before. This wasn't a smirk or a flirtatious panty-dropping smile, but a genuine smile that made my insides go all kinds of crazy.
"Then it's a date" I gave him a smile and continued to sip on my chai tea, restricting the urge to get up and dance out of happiness that I was currently feeling.
"So the girls at the club with you, are they your friends?" He asked casually. I resisted the urge to laugh out loud at him, but then again he couldn't have known better.
"Yeah, they're my friends or something like that"Alexander nodded, probably knowing that there was more to the story of our so-called friendship then what I was telling. But he didn't ask and I didn't tell, and I was thankful that it was that way.
My emotional baggage was something that I wanted to keep hidden from him, I didn't want to bother him with my problems.
"You" I cleared my throat " you mentioned your job, what exactly do you work with?" I asked, making an attempt on starting a conversation; something that I wasn't exactly good at. I didn't like talking, there too many things that could go wrong and there isn't an undo button for conversations, unfortunately.
"I own and run a BDSM club downtown," he said casually.
I spit out my tea and started coughing until my throat was hurting.
A what?
I couldn't have heard that right.
A staff member came up and gave me a glass of water that I glugged down like I was a dehydrated person on the brink of death and this glass of water was the last one on earth.
"You own a what?" I managed the get out in between coughing. There was no way on earth that I had heard that right.
"I run and own a BDSM club downtown," He said again, repeating his previous statement.
"You say that so casually" I squealed out, my face getting redder by the second. If I looked like a boiled lobster before I must've now looked like a damn strawberry.
Bdsm... I couldn't say that I was educated on the subject, only late nights down the rabbit hole of Google had provided me with information about the subject. Intercourse wasn't something that was completely strange to me. I did have some knowledge about it, but it scared me if I was honest with myself. The idea of being so close and intimate with someone tied my stomach into a knot. And on top of that adding whips and chains, no there was no way that I could ever do that.
"I'm a very open person Samantha, I don't like lies. I'd rather be straight forward from the very beginning," he answered and I couldn't help but look at him as he was crazy.
I opened and closed my mouth numerous time, not finding any words to say. "Look I understand that its a lot, I mean, no offense you strike me as very innocent" Alexander began "But I'm not going to hide it from you. It's a major part of my life that I won't hide from you" I could see his chest rise up and down as he took a deep breath before continuing. "The truth is there's something about you that draws me to you, I can't explain it. I've tried but I can't seem to stop thinking about you. And I do want to see you again. But I understand that that's a decision that you need to make" He finished with a soft smile.
"Call me when you've made a decision" he stood up from his chair and gave me a soft kiss on the cheek.
Oh lord, what had I gotten myself into...
