"My queen, your faithful warriors brought you a prize..." pointing at me the man continued, "...this boy. His family forgot their loyalty and turned against you. He will not. We will shape him into a great warrior. I know you already collected 2 children for this, one more wouldn't hurt." The man said in a strange language.
"Teik em raun hir. (Bring him up here)" The lady said sternly. He dragged me up to her. She looked at me. Then in the same strange language she said, "He'll do fine. Introduce him to the rest."
"Yu tag in? (Your name?)" The man said to me.
"Aksel.""En yu? (And you?)" He said to the eldest child in the room. "Roan." The boy said. Then the next boy said "Raika (Ryker)" The third boy said "Tomis (Thomas)" and lastly the girl said "Eiko (Echo)"
Then the lady ordered the children to leave. "Take him to the garden. You'll train him has your own." She ordered the man.
"Sha ai haiplana. (Yes my queen.)"
"Haiplana? (Queen?)" I asked.
She looked up.
"Ai nontu en nomon hod yu in. (My father and mother love you.)" She nodded her head and the man made me leave.
Five Years Later
"Jomp in!"
2 blades began to hit each other. Strike after strike. Punch after punch. I won.
"Jok! Yu kot ai op! (F**k! You cut me!)" My brother said.
"Hah, watch your sides then. That attack was easy. Has Talis not taught you anything?" I responded in English, which I mastered years ago.
"Watch yourself. He was my seda before you. I've been here since birth." My brother snarled sarcastically. We both broke out into laughter.
"Empleni! (Enough!) Our queen has called us to her room. Stop fooling around and change into something clean." My sister Echo said. "Sha, Heda. (Yes, Commander)" I said sarcastically. She turned around angrily. "No" Tomis said to her.
After we finished getting ready, we entered our queen's room. "Ai haiplana." We told her. "Yes, yes come in." She said.
"Tomis, Eiko!" She commanded.
They stepped forward. "You know your assignment." They nodded and left.
Then the queen's son Ryker walked in. Tomorrow was his 15th birthday so he was extra happy today. The queen dismissed me to speak with him. I was angered that I wasn't given an assignment.
I went to the bakery to blow off some steam, they always had the best goat milk. I saw the baker's daughter sitting next to her friends. She seemed upset so I went to go greet her.
"Hello, I am Aksel. What's your name?"
"Walk away boy, no one wants to play with you." Her friend said.
"Play? I don't think so, the Queen wouldn't allow it." I told her.
"Why would the Que-. Oh, I am sorry, please forgive me." She said nervously.
"You're one of them aren't you. One of the unmarked children the Queen has trained to be spies." Finally the daughter spoke.
"Yes, I am."
"That's cool, come sit." She spoke with a calm tone.
"Alright."
The rest of the night went well. We all got to know each other and I got my first ever friends. I knew that they couldn't ever meet me after this. The Queen wouldn't allow me to have "friends" as it goes against my training.
