Cherry Soda

Chapter five

2 hours later:

Walking along the street,
Me, Emily, Haley, Forest,
And hell, who knew Dawson was coming along?

walking down the street towards the Cherry soda Place, I didn't actually think Haley was going to invite Dawson TOO,

"So where is this place?" Dawson looks around

Emily smiles, "it's right here..."
She stops as the rest of us stop as well, we all look up at the neon lights and signs, reading:
WELCOME TO CHERRY LANDS SODA PALACE!

The whole entire thing looks like a 1950s diner, the neon red-pink lights caught my eye the most, I look around in the parking lot to see a lot of people parked,

It all brings a smile to my face, I look at Emily, she looks so happy to finally be here, she always have liked the flavor cherry, she's been going on and on about how much she couldn't wait to finally taste the flavor cherry in a soda, since we never really heard of such a thing here in Minnesota, Soulbear ridge.

"What are we waiting for, let's go!" Emily giggles of excitement as she runs in through the doors,

The rest of us, following her in,
I look at Forest, he looks sorta unamused by the whole thing,
While Dawson's randomly crying,

"Dawson what the hells up with you?"
I ask

"It's so beautiful..sorry, I can't help it" he sniffles,

I roll my eyes, "okay then"
I feel like it would be more fun if it was just me and Emily but I didn't want to upset Haley or anything, it was just a suggestion,

I look over and watch Haley's actions towards Forest, she tries to grab his hand three times already and I'm sorta tired of seeing her struggle with coming out and telling him, I mean, yes, he would 100% say no, but again, it's not because he doesn't think she's pretty or that he just hates her or something, it's just because he's unable to love, he just can't handle it,

But you know, she should at least have courage to do something, admit her feelings at least, I mean, I don't, but that's because Emily has a boyfriend and.. She only sees me as a friend, I dunno, I guess I'm just scared of being rejected too.

I see Haley swallow a lump in her throat as she looks over at Forest,

"Forest...can ...I hold your hand?" Her face turns very red, as she then looks away quickly,

Forest looks uncomfortable as usual, but this expression...
He looks so weirded out, he then bites his bottom lip nervously,

I look back at Haley, she looks as if she's going to start crying, but she doesn't show it to Forest,

I look down at their hands to then see that Forest had finally grabbed her hand,

"This....i...This is as in friends right?"
Forest looks at Haley,

"Holding hands aren't just for couples, can't we just be holding hands as friends?.." Haley looks like she's going to explode from Forest holding her hand,

"Well sure, at long as you don't mean it as a dating-sort-of-way, ya know?"
Forest cracks a smile,

Haley giggles, "oh no, it's fine, I..I have a boyfriend already, it's okay."

That was a lie.

"Hey" Forest chuckles, "Maybe Emily and Brainy should hold hands then, they're friends right?"

I overhear Forests comment, I feel my face burn extremely red, Emily turns around and starts laughing,
"Yeah we are!" Emily grabs my hand suddenly, our hands are intertwined with one another, I dunno if I should feel good about this or not,

Butterflies fly around my stomach as they make goosebumps appear on my skin, feeling tingling in my body just makes me want to throw up, but I can't ruin this.
