where do you hide the booze?
is it buried in your chest?
somewhere down deep where only you can find it?
or do you hide it in your mouth?
maybe under your tongue?
so that when you speak
some splashes on mine.
it is a very potent brew
because your words leave me dizzy.
from your "hello's"
to your "hey's"
or the way you ask how I'm doing.

it's a shame i can't help but love
and detest the feeling.

drunkenness is a sin.
it says so in the Bible.
it's foolish and unproductive.
so why must you make me sin like this?
why must you make me intoxicated?

clichés never were the case until now
where I find my words slurring as I fail to spill my thoughts
to you.
even my thoughts to a page.
because your alcohol is still coursing through my veins
burning through my skin.
inebriation.
remission.
sickness.
health.

i am unhealthily addicted to you.

it's a shame i can't help but love
and detest the feeling.
