"Are you kidding me!"
Austin held back a snicker as he wiped the wooden counter, behind him was a customer who he had spelled his name wrong.
"Really. Michelle, I'll give it to him. These are getting old though."
Okay, maybe he did it to two people.
"Seriously, It's Ritchie! Not Richie!"
He snickered as he cleaned a coffee stain off the counter by the coffee maker and continued to listen he heard the angry protests from behind him. So maybe he spelled the same three guys names wrong for the past month.
What could he say? Their reactions were hilarious. Usually, people who he had purposely spelled their name wrong would leave and won't come back, but these guys just wouldn't. Don't get him wrong, he wasn't trying to drive away customers. But his job can get boring, really fast. So, this is the best way to entertain him.
"Hey! You!" Austin faked an annoyed sigh as he turned around to face the same three men, he made sure to add an irritating look for good measure.
"It's Mario! We've literally been here multiple times, how hard is it to spell a 5 letter name!?"
Austin had to bite the inside of his cheek to stop the growing smile on his face, this was priceless. "I'm sorry sir but I'm trying." He had to strain his voice from sounded like he was going to laugh, but he managed to speak without his voice cracking so that was good.
The first person he spoke to when he got this job was Mario, he was usually one of the calm ones Austin noted. He could get angry sometimes but mostly was just annoyed. Mario could get quite intimidating the first time you see him, but after some time you realize that he's the exact opposite of intimidating. He was also slightly paranoid, whenever Austin would see him he always either had light or heavy bags under his eyes. Right now there were slight traces of them. Austin wondered if he had insomnia.
"He's right, we've written down our names before and hand gave them to you. There shouldn't be a problem. No offense, but you clearly aren't trying hard enough."
That one was Ritchie, he was the ginger you didn't want to mess with. Every time you'd see him there'd be this fire burning in his eyes that screamed determination. He got mad easily and was always standing up for people, he saw this first hand when there was this douchebag in the coffee shop harassing people. He also wouldn't stop pestering his friend, Bri.
She also worked with him, but she also had a similar sense of humor than him. Bri was, in fact, watching this from the cash-register, giving a fond head shake his way as she took down the order of another customer. They were once together in a relationship but after a couple of weeks they both realized things weren't working out, they both decided that they should stay as friends. And they still are, at first, it was awkward but now they're best friends. Bri was always getting Austin out of trouble.
