Rin POV:
It's been about two weeks after we moved here and the house is fully unpacked. I get out of bed and take a quick shower. I get out and get dressed, walking into the kitchen with a towel on my head. I notice my mom is making a bunch of food and putting it in a basket.

"Whatcha doing?" I ask curiously. Making some cereal and sat down on the counter.

"Packing food for a picnic." She says with a smile.

"Cool" I state blandly putting my bowl in the sink and starting walking away.

"Where do you think your going young lady? Your coming with us, as a family." She says with an slight smirk.

"Sigh... Fine" I say and went to get ready. It's not that I don't like picnics but it's weird to be around my family in public, especially in a new town. We walked down to the park about a half mile away. I have to say, the park was really nice. Green grass, lots of trees for shade, and lots of space to just lounge around. It was more of a big kid park but there was still some equipment for kids in the center of the park. We found a nice flat area under a tree and laid out the blanket and food.

After we were done eating my little brothers went to play with some other kids and my other brother and I sat and talked about video games and anime. I hadn't even notice a group of teens watching us until the wind shifted and they stirred slightly. They stood, three of them, under a huge tree that was a good thirty feet away. They wore mostly black and had umbrellas. Which was weird because it was around 80 degrees and sunny outside. When they noticed me looking at them they all started walking away, well actually more like gliding away. That's when it hit me. Vampires! I tried to stay calm so I didn't alarm anyone. My brother noticed me tense up and asked what wrong. I shook off the goosebumps and said it was nothing. After I relaxed he did as well and we went about the rest of our day normally.

When we got back home I informed my dad, the alpha, what I saw in the park.

"I know. I contacted other packs in the neighboring towns about anything we should know about. They said that a small clan of vampires live here on the opposite end of town." He stated. I stood there for a second with a worried expression. He must of noticed this because he said " Don't worry there is nothing to worry about. " "How could there be nothing to worry about!?" I said panicked. " The others say the clan will leave us alone as long as we don't mess with them and stay on our side" He comforted me. "What about school?" I asked a little less worried now. "That is sort of a neutral ground. Don't worry, everything will be fine. I don't like that vampires live that close to us but there's not much we can do about that." He smiled slightly trying to make me feel better. I nodded my head and headed to my room. I lay there thinking how awkward it will be going to school with vampires. I try not to think to hard on it but when I close my eyes all I can see is the three figures under the tree. In particular, the tallest one in the middle. Somehow I felt a small pull toward this person, I didn't know why but I wanted to find out.
