Part 13: The Second Big Question

At the ball

King Shadow was standing next to Amy on the stage. He was starting to get nervous. 'What if it doesn't work?' He began to think. He kept rubbing his thumb on Amy's hand every so often. She would always look to him and give him a reassuring smile. That smile would always melt his troubles away. He would always smile back at her. He looked back at the crowd and took a deep breath. 'You've got this!' He heard Erik's voice say. King Shadow looks back to Amy and grabs both of her hands so she is facing him. She feels surprised and begins to blush a light pink. He smiles at this.

Soon, the crowd notices what the king is doing and faces the couple. King Shadow sees this, takes a deep breath, and begins his speech. "Amy Rose, you have been by my side since we were young. I have always felt happy about it. Whether it'd be your voice or even just your name, I feel happy! You are the one that keeps me stable, even when I have lost my mind completely. I am thankful - even to this day! - that you gave me a chance, when no one else did. Therefore, I must ask..." He gets down on one knee with a small black box in his hand.

"Amy Rose, will you make me the happiest Male in the universe and marry me?" He finished with a smile. It went silent. Amy had tears in her eyes while covering her mouth. Finally, she spoke. "Yes!" She answered. She pounced on King Shadow. He was shocked at first. The crowd went wild! Everyone began cheering, whistling, and clapping. The noise was ringing in King Shadow's ears. He didn't expect Amy to say yes. Amy leaned into King Shadow and kissed him. At first, he was severely shocked, but then he melted into the kiss. Seeing this made the crowd go even more wild! As soon as they parted, King Shadow said, "Thank you Rose. So, so much." They were both still crying joyfully. He held her close. "You're welcome, my Shadow." Amy said lovingly. They both started to giggle.
