NIGHT STALKER : HAIKU/ SENRYU (Chain)
Dedicated to all prospective pet owners
poor neglected cat
wandering all through the night
do its owners care?
some old hungry bear
could possibly be aware;
those sharp teeth can tear
curious coyotes
looking for an easy meal
often tempt to steal
loved as a kitten
with maturity not cute
prowling in my yard
one real spring nuisance
marking its territory
peeing on my shrubs
leaving me presents
of birds maimed and suffering
at my front entrance
or mice mauled to death
with just a few entrails left;
such thoughts make me sick
people should think twice
before acquiring new pets
then having regrets
