Really

"Good morning you two." You said, happily approaching Dean and Seamus.

"Morning!" Dean exclaimed.

You sat next to Seamus and across from Dean in your normal spot at the Gryffindor table.

"You both sleep well?"

"Very well." Dean said with a smile.

Seamus simply nodded and scooped up some food with his fork.

"Come on. Lighten up. It's almost Christmas." You said, playfully nudging him in the ribs.

He kept eating.

You looked at Dean. "What's got his wand in a knot?" You asked.

Dean frowned and shook his head. "No idea. He was fine a minute ago."

You frowned and stood up. "Fine. If my presence is upsetting him, I will leave."

You grabbed your bag and left.

Seamus quickly got up to follow you out of the Great Hall, not saying anything.

The nerve of him ignoring you like that. What did you do that made him so upset?

You turned a corner and bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry mate." You muttered before looking up at him.

Oh dear. It was the Durmstrang boy that had been staring at you all week.

Seamus stopped walking after you and silently hid behind the corner, listening to the two of you.

"You are (F/N) (L/N), yes?"

You swallowed slowly and nodded.

He extended his hand and you hesitantly grabbed it.

"I am Veine. Pleasure to meet you."

He pulled your hand up to his mouth and brought it to his lips, never breaking eye contact. You blinked and pulled your hand away.

"It is nice to meet you too."

"You are very..." He wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you against his body, leaning down to whisper in your ear. "Beautiful."

You shuddered and pushed yourself away from him.

"Th-thank you."

You wished that Seamus or Dean would come and give you an excuse to leave this... physical man before things got ugly.

"Would you like to accompany me to the Yule Ball on Christmas Eve?" He asked, moving a strand of (H/C) hair from your face and tucking it behind your ear.

You cleared your throat, blushing madly. "Oh. Um."

You thought of Seamus.

You really wanted to go with him, but he had said he already had his eye on a girl. But you hadn't even known Veine for five minutes and he was getting very physical. But if you told him no, you probably wouldn't get asked again. You're a girl! Showing up without a date would be unacceptable!

So many things were running through your head that you didn't even notice Seamus approach you.

"(Y/N)!"

You turned to him.

"Seamus?"

He quickly grabbed your hand.

"We're gonna be late for potions class! Come on!" He said before dragging you away from Veine.

You squeezed his hand and ran behind him down the hallway.

He finally stopped running when you got to the fourth floor.

You let go of his hand and put it, along with your other hand on both knees, slouched over, and tried to catch your breath.

"I understand what you did there Seamus, but was it really necessary to drag me all the way up here?"

He laughed and stood up straight.

"I had to make sure he didn't follow us up here. He seemed really determined to ask you. I was afraid he was going to start snoggin ya er something."

You giggled and stood up straight as well before stepping forward and giving Seamus a hug.

"Thanks mate."

You pulled away.

"If you hadn't have shown up, I might have panicked and told him yes. That would have been dreadful."

Seamus nodded in agreement.

"When did you get there?" You asked him.

"I was there the whole time. I followed you after you left the table and hid when you ran into him."

You shuddered and tucked a lose strand of hair behind your ear.

"So you saw the whole thing?" You asked.

He nodded and began slowly walking down the hall. You sighed and joined him in walking.

"So why were you ignoring me earlier?" You asked, crossing your arms.

"No reason."

You stopped walking and stared at the back of his head.

"Seamus Finnigan, I know there is a reason. So tell me."

He sighed and turned to face you.

"I wasn't ignoring you. I was just nervous is all."

You tilted your head curiously.

"Nervous? About what?"

He fidgeted and scratched the back of his head.

Something was obviously bothering him. You looked into his eyes, but he immediately avoided your stare and looked out the window.

"Oy! What were you nervous about?!" You questioned, trying to move into his line of sight.

"I was planning on... asking you to go with me to the ball."

Your eyes widened as the blush dusted your pale cheeks.

"Wh- what?" You whispered.

"But, now I know that if you don't want to go with a Durmstrang, then you definitely don't want to go with me." He said, faking a laugh.

What an idiot. Of course you wanted to go with him.

"Well, you won't know until you actually ask me, now will you?" You teased.

He looked over at you, surprised.

"What?"

"You heard me."

He stared at you for a second before shuffling his feet again.

"Oh. Um... (Y/N)?"

"Yeah?"

"Would you want to go to the ball with me?"

You smiled playfully and put your hand to your chin.

"Hmmmm."

He chuckled and scratched the back of his head.

"Come on, (Y/N). I'm bein serious y'know?"

You laughed and stepped forward, wrapping your arms around his neck.

"Course I want to go to the ball with you, Seamus."

You felt him let out a sigh of relief before wrapping his arms around your waist.

"Really?"

"Really."

*****************************

Some Seamus love! Yay! Veine isn't really a character in the movies/books. I just needed a flirty Durmstrang that wasn't Viktor Krum or Poliakoff. But yeah! Seamus asked you to the dance! Yay! In the next chapter, you will make a new friend! I will post that tomorrow (9/29). I hope you enjoyed. Comments and votes are very much appreciated!
