"What the hell's that?" asked Dante as he and Nathan backed away from the ferris wheel. "It sounded like shooting," said Nathan, sounding scared. BOOM. Another shot. There were people screaming now. "Run!" yelled Dante as he pulled Nathan away from the ferris wheel, trying to run trough the glob of people who were also running. "Wait!" yelled Nathan. "I have to find my friends! I have to make sure they're ok!"said Nathan. "Yea me too! I'll see you soon, hopefully," said Dante as he started to go looking for his friends.
Nathan ran as fast as he could, looking everywhere for his friends as more shots broke through the night. "DELANEY? MARK?? RACHEL?? CARLOS? WHERE ARE YOU??!" yelled Nathan frantically as he tried to look through the bunch of people screaming and yelling, all trying to go out through the main entrance. "NATHAN! OVER HERE!" It was Mark and Rachel. "Guys! Where are Carlos and Delaney?!" asked Nathan. "I don't know! We were looking fo-" BOOM! Mark got cut off. He got shot on the side of his stomach. "MARK!! MARK?!" yelled Rachel. She could not believe her eyes. "MARK?! No! How did they get here so fast?! What the hell! Help me get him, Rachel!" yelled Nathan as he swung Mark's arm over his neck. "I heard the shooting from far away! How did they get here so freaking fast?!"asked Nathan again as he tried to run with Mark all the way to safety. "There must be more than one shooter.. HEY DELANEY! CARLOS! OVER HERE!" yelled Rachel as she, too, tried to run and carry Mark at the same time. "GUYS? MARK?! WHAT HAPPENED?" yelled Delaney. "He got shot!" yelled Nathan. "Carlos! Put your sweater where his wound is! Hurry!" said Delaney. "Guys you go ahead and take Mark. I already hear the sirens coming. I'm going back to help anyone who's hurt. Ok?" said Nathan. "WHAT? No! You're crazy! Let the police deal with it!" yelled Rachel. "No! The entrance is too thick! There are a whole BUNCH of people trying to get out! The entrance is blocked! By the time the police get in here through that mob of people, the hurt people are most likely going to be dead!" yelled Nathan as he started to run back. "No Nathan! At least let me help you!" yelled Delaney. "No! I don't want you getting hurt! You get out and help Mark!" yelled Nathan. "No! Nathan wai-" Nathan was already too far for him to hear Delaney. And Delaney couldn't go with Nathan because she and her friends were being pushed out towards the entrance.
As Nathan ran, trying to find not-yet-dead bodies, but also hiding at the same time, he stumbled upon Dante.
"What are you doing here, Dante?! You should be out of the carnival with your friends!" yelled Nathan. "Well, it turns out they all left here before the shooting started. I guess they got bored. Now I'm stuck here because that mob won't move and I want to help people who are hurt! Anyway, what are you doing here? You said you'd be looking for your friends!" said Dante. "I am. I mean I was. I already found them. I came back to help people who need help," said Nathan, almost feeling bad at the idea that Dante's "friends" left him. "That's dangerous, Nathan," said Dante. "Hypocrite," said Nathan under his breath.
"Anyway, we better find somewhere else to hide. We're gonna help the people we find and we're gonna hide from the shooter," said Dante. "I think you mean shooters," said Nathan. More shots could be heard in the distance. Some were very close by. "What do you mean shooters? There's more than one?" asked Dante. "Yea, at least that's what my friend thinks. It's because near the ferris wheel, the shots could be heard far away. Then I ran not too far from there and came across my friends. One of them got shot in his stomach. It just wasn't possible that the shooter could run that fast," said Nathan sadly, looking down. "Hey," said Dante, picking up Nathan's chin with his fingers, "he's going to be ok." Nathan blushed. He was thankful it was a bit dark so Dante wouldn't see. But then he remembered Dante fighting those kids and quickly looked away. "Let's um, let's find some people," said Nathan. "Ok."
Nathan and Dante had found some people who are hurt and helped them out through the mob. The mob was getting smaller now.
Nathan and Dante were running and hiding in small places where ever they could find. They tried to stay as far away from the gunshots as much as possible.
"Remember, they could be anywhere," said Dante as he peeked through the a little hole in their hiding place. "Looks like the coast is clear. Let's go," said Dante. "Hey Dante, I think we should split up, just so we could help more people," said Nathan as he tried to keep up with Dante. "Ok, meet me near the ferris wheel in 10 minutes," said Dante.
Nathan had gone right and Dante had gone left. He kept looking for people but kept stumbling upon dead bodies. This made Nathan shiver. As he ran, trying to find more people to help, he hear a shot that was not far from him. Maybe even right where he was. Then he felt it. That sharp stab of pain. He looked down at the side of his right hip. It was bleeding. Luckily, the bullet went only half in so it wasn't full bullet hole. But it still hurt like hell.
"Ow gahhh! CRAP! Dammit I gotta find Dante," said Nathan as he tried to run faster than he was before, trying to get as far away from his shooter as possible. He reached the ferris wheel. It had only been about 7 minutes but he found Dante there waiting already. "Hey Nathan, I had found some people I could help and I brought them out. But it seems like the entrance is blocked! I think the police closed the gates," said Dante worryingly. "What?! Why the hell would they do that?! It doesn't make sense! Aren't they trying to save people?!" said Nathan in surprise, trying to hide his pain. "I don't know why they'd do that. I jus- Hold on why are you acting like that?" asked Dante, now trying to help Nathan. Nathan had been wincing every time be said a word and had been griping his right hip. "N-no reason. C'mon we have to go hide," said Nathan, trying to hide his wound. "No. No, hey what's wrong? Did you get hurt? Let me see," said Dante trying to grab a hold on Nathan. "No, we have to hide somewhere first," said Nathan, heading towards the ferris wheel. "Hold on. Did you get shot? I heard a shot near where you were, but I didn't think it was you!" said Dante, now trying to run with Nathan towards the ferris wheel. "Just a little bit! Only half of the bullet came in. It's no big deal.." said Nathan, still trying to get to the ferris wheel without bleeding too much. "Of course it's a big deal! Stop running! I'll carry you. You're losing too much blood!" yelled Dante. Nathan stopped when Dante said those words. His heart was beating so fast now. "Hey, let me help you. Please," said Dante. Nathan didn't know what to say. Should he let Dante carry him? "I uh- Ok.." said Nathan blushing. Dante put his arm on Nathan's back and his other one under Nathan's legs. Then Nathan kicked up a bit. Now Dante was carrying Nathan bridal style. "T-thanks.." said Nathan, now blushing even more than he's ever blushed before. "No problem," said Dante who was also blushing a bit now.
Dante knew Nathan's wound wasn't extremely bad, but Nathan would still lose quite a bit of blood if he kept trying to run. Also, a small part of Dante had wanted to carry Nathan, but Dante did not know why.
They reached the ferris wheel which was still moving. Dante tried to reach a little compartment before it moved away. Finally, he got one and got in with Nathan still in his arms.
