"ATOM FIGHT!" & "I will not quack at the principal"

All the ducks were sitting in science class, listening to our teacher droning on and on about atoms, well most people were listening (meaning only I was listening.)

"That's right the red is oxygen. Now what are the blue balls?" he asked as everybody started giggling.

"Tommy?" he asked Tommy.

"Hydrogen?" Tommy asked.

"Is correct." our teacher told him.

"Now put them together and you have a molecule that makes up 96% of your body. What is it?" he asked.

"Pizza?" Tommy joked.

"It's the principle, I'll be right back. Work on h2co3 it's a goodie." he told us before he left to talk to the principal.

"How'd the forfeit go Spazway?" Karp asked Charlie.

"Yeah, did you score?" Peter asked sarcastically.

"Leave him alone guys he doesn't want to talk about the team." I said to them.

"Oh yeah sure, coach's pets. Everybody knows he likes you two best." Peter said.

"Like their mom you mean." Karp said.

"Take it back Karp." Charlie and I say as we push our desks away. Charlie starts pushing Karp around.

"Hey leave them alone Karp." Connie says as she stands up. Peter pushes Connie away from Karp and starts pushing her around.

"Hey, don't push her she's just a girl!" Guy says as he pushed Peter away from Connie.

Everybody starts pushing people around. Pretty soon I hear somebody yell.

"ATOM FIGHT!!" everybody starts throwing the 'atoms'.

"My atoms!" the teacher says as he comes into the room.

"You sit, sit now, in your seats now!" the principal says. Charlie and I stay standing 'cause our seats are on the floor.

"I have never in my life... what have you got to say for yourselves?" she asks us.

"Quack, quack, quack, quack!" somebody started chanting pretty soon the whole team started chanting it.

We were in detention, writing in the boards 'I will not quack at the principal.' The door opened and we all turned to the door.

"What do you want?" Karp asked coach Bombay.

"I wanna talk to you guys." coach said.

"People!" Tammy whined.

"People right. Sit down please all of you." coach said. None of us sat down. "okay don't sit down. Look what's done is done, I wanna be your coach again." coach said.

"You wanna coach a bunch of losers?" Averman asked.

"No, I wanna coach the ducks." coach immediately said back.

"What about the things you said? You said we didn't deserve to live." Karp said.

"Karp, I was being sarcastic. You know what that means?" coach asked.

"Noooooo." Karp said sarcastically.

"Okay, then you do. I didn't mean those things the way they sounded. You guys understand what it's like to be misunderstood, right?" coach asked us.

"Yeah, of course were kids." Peter said.

"So can you forgive me? Can I be you coach again?" he asked us.

"What about Banks?" Guy asked while Connie looked at me.

"He can be on the team if he wants. He should have been with us all year. It's you guys who were cheated." coach said. "Let's forget all that crap, we're a team right? I made you guys and I'm sticking with you." he said looking at me and Charlie. "so what's it going to be, we could play tomorrow night, still have a shot at the play-offs, or we can forfeit again and the seasons over, Peter what do you say?" he asked Peter.

"Well, I guess it would help if we practice first." Peter said.

"Alright let me see if I can get you out of detention." coach said to us.

"YES!" I said.

"Did you really quack at the principal?" He asked.

"Yeah." I said as I shrugged.

"Are we ducks or what?"
