Thomas Felix sat across Dracula of such a short table. The man was fidgeting with the fabric of his sleeve and occasional swiping away the mop of brown hair that halted at the brows. Instead of making eye contact with Drac, the man's ocean blue irises flickered across the room full of books in their bookcases. Was this the library?"Do you still fear that I'll attack and drink your blood?"
"N-no," he said hesitantly as his eyes were now on Elizabeth that stood beside the vampire.
He cleared his throat and sat up straighter. "Mr. Felix, I do not like being deceived. It doesn't matter how big or small of a lie it is." The man stopped moving completely like he knew what would happen next, and that would be the creature across the table attacking him. He shut his eyes tightly -waiting for the collision- but when nothing occurred, Thomas had peeked through his eyelids to unveil that he was simply eyeing him with a know-it-all smile. "I had plenty of chances of taking you and gulp your blood down but I hadn't."
Swallowing down a lump that formed in his throat, he had just nodded his head and fumbled with a moving bag that was tied around his waist. "Well... um... I had brought a live rat with me to have. Like, a truce of sorts."
Scrunching up his nose like he was offended, he replied with, "Hand it over to Elizabeth." Dracula doesn't like the taste of rats, but this was the start of something. "Thank you for the gift." Perhaps Elizabeth got through to them or at least some of them. Wouldn't that be grand?
She swiftly moved to the man who held the bag and grabbed it with disgust plastered on her face. Why would Thomas think this was what he wanted to consume? She wasn't even a vampire, but even Elizabeth wouldn't sink her teeth in this foul creature if she was. She assumed every blood the courses through animals -and humans- had a different taste from one another. Rats were probably like the least desirable food out there to eat in the vampire world.
"Young Cypher, could you please make us some tea as well as something small for us to nibble on and to do something with the poor creature in the bag?" She nodded her head and gallivanted out the room, taking the bag with her. Dracula watched her leave with a smile because he somehow knew what she thought of this little present he received.
"Do... do you not drink animal's blood?"
Averting his eyes away from the doorway and back to the man, he replied with, "I do, but rats make my stomach turn in such a terrible way. It would be the last resort for me to drink their blood." He locked his hands together like a small table to rest his chin on, wood digging into his elbows.
"So... You don't really attack my kind?"
"If I did, I wouldn't have servants. Now, would I?"
