"How many things do you think he's been keeping as secrets from you?" Max asked. I had just explained everything I knew to him and Skylar.
"Max keep in mind she only just found out about these things yesterday," Skylar explained after minutes of my silence. "She probably has a lot of questions she'd like answered herself. Let's refrain from overfilling her head with our questions as well."
"Thanks Skylar," I replied. Skylar has always been the voice of reasoning and boy did I need it about now.
"Sorry I won't ask anymore questions," Max apologized, rubbing the back of his head apologetically.
We sat there for a little bit none of us able to eat anymore of our lunch. I can understand Max's curiosity though. I mean I have so many questions myself. I know he cares about me a lot and really only wants to help, but like Skylar said, It's probably best not to ask me any questions. Knowing me I'd start to get overwhelmed.
"Hey Ad," Skylar said, getting back my attention. "Who is that girl your dad is talking to?"
I looked up to look in the same direction as her to see who she was talking about. There stood my dad in his t-shirt and jeans talking to a girl about in her thirties. She has medium long, black hair, a white crop top that showed off her arm tattoos, black shorts, and a pair of black heels. She turned for a second and I could see her face. A laughing expression on a face with beautifully done makeup.
"I have never seen her before," I admit. I really haven't. I wonder if she is a friend of my fathers. Yet my real question is why is she at our school?
My thoughts were interrupted by the bell signifying lunch was over. Sadly, my next class, neither of my friends will be joining. I wave them a quick goodbye before dumping my tray and rushing to history class.
I make it into class just in time. The bell rang after I walked in, so I quickly rushed to my assigned seat at a table in the back by myself. The room had a set of three rows of three tables. I got lucky and got a table to myself while everyone else had to sit with a person.
"Before we begin our lecture today," Mrs. Reinfeldt began. "I must introduce our new student who decided to show up during my class."
New student? I don't remember anyone talking about a new student. Hopefully they're nice and fit in well.
We suddenly heard shoes hitting the marble floor from outside. The sound getting louder as they approached. Then walked in a girl with pale skin, dark grey hair with magenta tips pulled up into a ponytail, her hair covered her right eye, only showing her left light blue eye. She stood at height of 5'8.
She wasn't wearing our usual uniforms that we are supposed to wear. She didn't wear the typical grey suit shirt with the schools arrow logo on it over a white button up, nor did she wear the black skirt that girls were required to wear or the grey jeans. She also wasn't wearing the typical girly black shoes. Instead she is wearing a camo jacket, camo jeans with a black belt, and black army boots. She looked more like a military soldier then a student.
Everyone stared at her as if she was a sore thumb. Yet she doesn't look like she really cared. She just stood straight and tall in front of the class with her hands at her sides. I already like her.
"Alright class," Mrs. Reinfeldt said, unsure of our new student. "Go ahead and introduce yourself miss."
With a nod the mysterious girl began.
"Names Laura Star," Our new student, Laura, said in a heavy Australian accent. "I'm from Australia. My mum was a military soldier there. Now she has been promoted to work here in the US. She decided to have my father and I live here in Iowa. Right now my father and I are looking for another military training place for me, so I can continue my training."
She does seem to have an interesting life. She seems so cool! I hope we can be friends!
"Thank you miss Star," Mrs. Reinfeldt said with a positive tone. "Please take a seat with miss Saharah."
I straighten my posture at the sound of my name. I already knew she was going to sit with me since there are no other available seats, but I still am shocked. I can feel my excitement as Laura walks down the rows to me. As she took the seat next to me she stuck out her hand.
"Laura," She said with a smile. I grab her hand and shake it.
"Addison," I reply with a big goofy smile.
She took her hand back and looked forward toward the teacher. I assume she wants no further conversation and I do the same.
A/N~ I'd like to inform that Laura Star is not my original character. Indeed the rest of them are, but not Laura. Laura is a character of my dearest friend Kenzostory's. I decided, since we like to imagine these too meeting, I'd have them meet in my story. Don't worry I did get permission from my friend. Just wanted to point that out. Hope you've enjoyed my story so far.
