Book Smart {Hermione}

Y/n's footsteps echoed down the nearly empty hall, with a few students gathered here and there. Most had gone to their common rooms to rest and get their work done.

They stepped into the library and scan the area. For a while, they believed that they were the only one there, besides the librarian, until they noticed a familiar curly haired brunette with her face burrowed in a considerably large book. One on magical creatures to be precise.

They made their way over to her and clear their throat.

"Mhm." No response. They tried again.

"Mhm." Once again, no response.

" 'Mione!" They whispered yelled.

"Shhhhhhhh!" The librarian shushed them.

'I guess the librarian heard me.' Y/n thought.

"Oh hi Y/n, I didn't see you there!"

"Shhhhhhh!" The librarian shushed them once again.

"I could tell, I've been trying to get your attention." Whispered Y/n quietly as possible, trying not to anger the librarian again.

"Sorry 'bout that. Say, why don't we go up to my room, so we won't have to keep whispering."

"Sure."

So the two made their way to the Gryffindor dormitories. Tiptoeing their way inside, careful not to wake the students in the common room. Finally, they reached the brunette's room. They stepped inside, and Hermione closed the door behind them.

" Hey, where are your roommates?"Y/n asked.

"Passed out in the common room," Hermione replied.

"Oooh. Well, can you tell me about your book then?" Hermione's friend asked, sitting on the bed.

" I'd love too!" Exclaimed Hermione, taking a seat on the bed too. She rummaged through her bad until she pulled out the thick book. "It's about the magical proteins of the Lethifold. It's a cr-" Hermoine pauses. She noticed you staring at nothing. She called your name."Y/n?" You didn't reply

"Y/n?"

"Huh?" You finally responded

"Guess you're the one not paying attention now." She replied snide tone.

"Sorry sorry, I was just sooo interested in.. in... What were they again?"

"Lethifolds?"

"Yea... those."Y/n said in a unsure voice.

"Just admit, you don't want to hear about my book."

"No! I want to hear about your book. I'm just having an off day. But I still what to hear 'bout it!"

"If you insist." Hermione continues her book, but Y/n eyelids just kept getting heavier and harder to keep open. And soon she fell asleep.

Not even a second later, a loud crash occured outside the door.

Y/n sat straight up and realized that Hermione paid no attention to the sound. And luckily didn't notice her sleeping. Y/n listend as hermione readed a section on the Lethifold description. Her words began to mush together and became less comprehensible as Y/n focused more on staying awake then the book.

Not even 2 minutes after, Y/n began to drift off. At after 4 minutes, they were about cold. Hermione continued to ramble on about Lethifolds until she noticed your sleeping figure. She chuckled at you before tucking you in. She laid down the book until she noticed Y/n open your eyes.

"Can you keep reading?" Y/n asked in a sleepy voice.

"Of course." Hermione picked up the book and continued to read. After a while, she falls asleep too, with the book still open.
