Chapter 3: Original Skills!?

You were walking around the field, a rather emotionless expression on your face. What ele is there to do...? The game I was so happy about being released just became a true living hell, what can I do except slaughter these boars...? These thoughts flooded your mind every second, you killed yet another boar rather quickly, you check your level periodically. You're level 20, a rather high level for someone still fighting on Floor 1, but you couldn't possibly even attempt fighting the Floor Boss on your own, the boss has four HP bars from what you heard from some players. It'd take a large number of players before you could fight that Floor Boss. You're walking around the town before you stop between a beta tester talking to a new player.

"Pretty much," the beta tester said, "you make a small pause before swinging your weapon and it'll start to glow, then when the enemy is close enough, swing your weapon and you can use a skill,you can do it with anything, some kid showed me during the beta that you can do it, even with a rock or a pebble."

Perhaps I can use that to my advantage too you think to yourself as you stand outside the door to the field, promoting a raid against the Floor Boss, a girl walks up and said she'd join, saying that she wants to get stronger, you agree to help her but not to challenge the raid boss. You have heard a lot of things from walking around the Town of Beginnings, some helpful tips like making a party and most recently, sword skills. You open your menu and send her a party invitation, she accepts the party invite, you move your eyes looking at her name. "Silica? That's a good name." You say, smiling, she smiles back as she bowed. "Thanks, it's nice to meet you, umm..." She puts a finger to her chin as she looks around until she finds your avatar name and say's it. You nod as you point to the field gate. "Let's go Silica, leveling you up will be fun, it's always fun when you have a second person to tag along." You walk to the field gate with Silica closely behind, you then hunt for more boars, attacking them, you discover a new tactic that transfers the agro from one person to the other, the Switch tactic. "Silica! Switch!" You jump back as she charges forward, striking the boar heavily as it falls to the ground, dying and shatters. Silica cheers as she levels up again, you look at her as you smile, helping her get on her feet in this game makes you happy, despite being new as well, you're glad you can help someone else survive in this hellish death game. "You think you can join the Assault Team to push forward the next floor?" You ask her as you sheath your sword and pop your neck a few times. "I'd like to, where is the meeting?" She says, sheathing her dagger. "Second Floor, there is an area that you can hold meetings at in town, we'll go to the second floor and upgrade our gear and attend the meeting." She nods her head as you both return to the town and walk up to the teleport gate, teleporting to Floor 2. You two first walk to an armor shop, you buy a armored long coat and she buys a necklace that enhances her defensive stats. You then stop by a weapon shop as you check the two handed swords, you buy a rather large two handed sword as you check it's stats, plus fifteen to strength. Silica buys a rather interesting knife, it's the shape of a Kukri knife. Your last stop was a goods shop as the both of you restock on healing items.

"Say, why did you change weapon choice?" Silica asks as the two of you are walking to the Assault Team meeting. "I overheard that a famous guild leader got something called an Original Skill, so maybe if I wield this two handed sword, I'll get one where I can wield it like a one-handed sword." It seemed far fetched, but you were willing to try. You make it to the meeting on time as the two of you take your seat next to a young boy in a black coat and a girl wearing rather knightly white armor, with touches of red. The meeting begins as a man with reddish-orange hair walks out, he introduces himself as Kibaou, he seemed to look at the boy in black with disgust as he started the meeting, the boss they were going to challenge was a rather large treant, weak to slashing attacks. The meeting went on until it finally ended, people were asked to start partying up, your party already consisted of Silica, but you'll need more, maybe the boy in black and the girl. "Hey, want to party up?" You ask the other two, smiling as Silica looks at them from behind you. "If you want to, do you two know the Switch tactic?" The boy in black said as you sent him and the girl an invite to the party, they accept as you check their names, Kirito and Asuna. Your party is formed, now a big fight is about to commence...
