THE CROWN

Chapter I (Cold attitude)

INTRODUCTION

In a world with only one ruler, there is a tradition that only happens once in every 30 years.

"THE CROWNING"

It has been 29 years since the last Crowning; King Rheafar was crowned king on May, 4, 7109.

A lot has been changed in his rule. Even in this futuristic world he made seem like we are back in The Information Age.

But in his rule we are free. The laws are not as strict as when the old ruler was in, well that is what our grandparents always told us.

1 year until the next Crowning people wonder who will be crowned next, that is for the Book keeper to decide. The book keeper usually choose 8 people to enter the crowning but there has been hearsays that there were times when the book keeper choose even up to 20 people's to enter.

But those are only rumors, The last crowning which King Rheafar has won only consisted of 8 people's maybe next year it would stay the same.

*1 year later

5pm, SYLA

Its already dark, there's not a person to be seen around,

A mid tall young man walking his boredom around, he walks in a wide alley, trying to find amusement, or trying to find purpose. As he walk without a destination in his mind

"A new King huh? I couldn't care less about it, they're all the same, abusing power, taking advantage of their title. So what could I do with this boredom, maybe I should visit Her, It's been years since the last time we got to see each other, she's usually in the garden so I think I'd go there. "

As he walks in a dark alley he see's 3 person in the darkest part of it, as he look into the three person he see's that they haven't noticed his presence.

He looks closer and see's 1 person is backed against the wall while the other 2 is mugging him! One guy holds the person against the wall while the other has a knife in his hands, the person holding the guy has a gun in a holster, it is rusted probably not a registered gun.

As he walks closer to the 3 persons to get a closer look the mid tall man steps on a dry leaf

*CRACK

that would have been a satisfying noise if it wasn't for this situation.

The muggers look his way looking surprised. The muggers said

"What are you looking at"

there's something about muggers they all have the same accent.

"Get out of here and don't tell anybody if you don't want to be involved"

The muggers said, The mid tall man replied

"Its getting dark, and I have places to be, if you could kindly release that man I would gladly be on my way"

The muggers replied

"Pretty cheeky for you to say that, don't you even see the situation you're in right now?"

In a blink of an eye the mid tall man is in front of the guy holding a knife that he took from the mugger with a deadly look on his face

"I won't ask twice. I got places to be"

The other mugger gets the gun and tries to fire at the mid tall man but it wont fire because of the rust in the gun, the mid tall man reverses the hold on the knife and uses the butt of the knife to knock out the mugger holding a gun, then he takes down the second mugger down with a fluid movement and hit him in the head for good measures.

The third person in the alley the man being mugged is paralyzed as the mid tall man walks away from the scene. He then asked the mid tall man

"WAIT! Could you please tell me your name so I could thank you properly."

The mid tall man simply says

"Frost, Frost Dreyar"

The mugged man screams

"Thank you! Frost!".

As Frost walks to the garden, its getting darker and darker, A beam of light from the sky appears in front of Frost, Surprised, wide eyed, a look of disbelief in his face,

"Frost Dreyar, Have been chosen worthy of holding the book by the Book Keepers"

And as the light fades away, it reveals an old book on the ground,

"The book of Kings"

Frost says in awe, Frost asks

"Why me? Of all people Why me?"

The Book Keepers doesn't respond, all that's left is the Book of Kings in his hands, with a Lion stigma on the cover.
