This where it lies
The starting point of my turmoil
In patterns I couldn't envision drowned in alluring memories
This where it lies
The exchange of my heart
Oh! How I missed the quirk
On your smooth subtle lips
It was the calm before the storm
Instincts kicked in
But your sweet honey voice
Led me astray.
The waves built up strength
The atmosphere turned electric
In the thin line of blurry vision
You left me crashing
My Angel turned into ice
My calm Ireland a brewing storm
It rained down popsicles
That pierced my tattered heart
I frantically searched your box of promises
I stumbled upon your words
I scrambled for a way out
But was tossed mercilessly around
I was lost in despair
My face stained from tears
When the storm hit me hard
I searched the only tangible thing I knew
Which I thought was you
Regret became my best friend
And it daily clawed me away
You promised and you gave me your words
Which now I new were a bowl of lies
In the dark ship of pain
I can't help but remember
When you said that
You'll be steady by the storm.
