The first thing she heard was a loud crack! Then, the ringing in her ears took over. Pain rushed through her body, almost as if she'd been shredded by a paper shredder. Maybe. Her skin was like paper and her bones like cardboard. She thought for sure she was dead.

She couldn't move. Her eyelids were heavy over her eyes and her limbs were stiff, stuck together like magnets. She was curled into a ball, pieces of her life seemed to be spilling out of her, disintegrating into thin air.

She could still breathe, her lungs were working and her chest was rising with them. But something was off. The steady beat that had once come from get heart was no more. It sounded more like when she'd drop a book from her bed at night on to the floor. It was slowed. By a lot. And soon, all together it stopped. And so did her lungs.

The lifeless body lay there coiled in the broken rope and small shards of glass and pieces of drywall.
