-Fima-

I am getting ready for my big day.

Yes, I'm getting married today

I'm getting married with the most handsome man I have ever met in my life.

Standing in front of the big mirror I'm watching myself getting adorned by the beauticians. The woman in the mirror is looking so beautiful like a princess from a fairy land waiting for his prince. I look at myself with disbelief. Many doubts and questions are rising in my heart.

Is it really me? Am I really getting married? Am I really getting married to the one whom I like so much? Is it true or a dream?

I feel a shake in my heart and stretch out my hand to grab my sister's hand. My younger sister Alya has come to Canada to join my wedding ceremony on behalf of my family. Zach wanted to bring all of my family members but because of some criticality in visa processing procedures they could not come.

"What is it, Fima? Do you need something?" She asks holding my hand.

"No, I don't need anything. Just hold my hand, okay?" My beauticians are now helping me to wear ornaments. These are custom made with traditional Indian design as I'm adorning myself as the Indian princess. It was my wishful thought that we would make our wedding fascinating. I'd be a human princess and he'd be a fairy prince. It was just a thought that I expressed to Zach. He smiled and said 'Let's do it.'

"Are you nervous?" Alya says.

"Yeah. I'm so nervous. I am feeling like to flee away from here and get rid of all of my tensions."

"What are you saying? My brother-in-law is so handsome and so cool and so-o-o nice person. If I'd be you, I would never wait this long. When are you going to tell him that you like him?"

I smile at her frustration. "I like him but I can't explain why I can't I say that to him. I always have a feeling that he's hiding something from me... something very important. It bothers me and raises questions of trust in my mind. Until he expresses what it is, I can't go ahead."

"So you never went on dates?" Alya asks again.

"Our dating? Since I declared father that I'm gonna marry him, I started to spend my time alone with him... like a friend. Until then, I used to take a third wheel with us wherever we went. He was annoyed at first. But he somehow understood what I want and what my likings and disliking are. He respected my feelings and gave me space. We held hands just like friends. Because of the space he gave me, I was able to see how caring he is towards me. And I like it very much. He has gained my respect."

"Ha ha ha." Alya laughs. "Oh God! But father and mother are everyday worried thinking that they have lost their virgin daughter. Ha ha ha!"

After almost two torturous hours of my makeover, I finally see myself as a complete bride. I just stare at my image on the mirror with wonder.

It's really me!

My friends and Alice enter the room and they are also praising how beautiful I am looking. I just blush. Alya makes the video call to our parents. All of my family members are looking at me through that little screen. My parents can't say a word as they are crying and wiping their tears.

Seeing them crying, my heart twists in pain.

Oh, how much I miss them at this moment!

This is a big day in my life but they are not here to hug me, to encourage me and to bless me.

"Hey, hey! Don't cry. You'll ruin your make up." Someone shouts with panic.

My mother says, "Don't worry. Don't cry. We are happy for you. We always want your happiness. May God always bless you and Zach. May you always be happy. You're looking so beautiful." She cries again.
