She doesn't get it. Walking back to his rental car, Ethan Nestor wipes a tear away from his face. Mika is just a distraction. From her. He turns on the car and Johnny Boy starts playing through the Bluetooth. "Get up Johnny Boy. Cause we all need you now." Glaring at the radio, then at his phone, Ethan stabs the off button on the console. Why won't she get it?
Driving away from the dorms, Ethan contemplates a way to tell Rose just how he feels. And how much he stood up for her. She thinks I don't care about her. She's dead fucking wrong. It takes thirty minutes of deep thought to realize Rose probably never wants to talk to him again. I can't just leave it like this. She has to know. But I'm too far away to knock down her door and shout it at her. Pulling into a gas station, the young man picks up his phone and calls his longtime crush.
"C'mon Rose, pick up." Ethan says aloud, eyes lining with silver again. The phone rings for a minute then transfers to the automated voicemail.
"We're sorry. This mailbox is full. Please call again later." Ethan calls her again. And again. And again. But there's no answer.

Why won't he stop calling me?
Sitting on her bed with her big fluffy blanket wrapped around her shoulders, Rose King wipes tears off her phone as it rings for the fourth time in a row.
"Just stop already." she mutters angrily at the incessant ringing. Throwing it on the other side of the bed and falling back against the wall, Rose lets the tears continue to fall.
