Lenny’s POV

I pick up my phone to reply but my hands, it’s as if they don’t want to, as if they know nothing good can come from this and so I don’t. I place my phone somewhere far out of sight. Only to quickly retrieve it and dial a number and wait until someone picks up.

“Hello this is Mary speaking how may I help you?” “Mary, this is Lenny” “Oh darling how have you been?”

“Well really well until recently, I’ve been thinking about her more than usual”

“Are you ready then?” I take a deep breath and sit down as tears begin to slip by “I…I don’t think I am”

I says as im trying to control my tears “Don’t do this to yourself, where’s Luke?” My heart stops, and my breath come short. I finally find my breath again

“Luke…Luke dumped me today” “Oh my, do you need me to come over?”

“No I’ve already called Jenna and shell be by as soon as she’s off work” there’s a knock at the door

“I think she’s here, I’ll call you later, thanks Mary” “Thanks for what? “Just talking I guess”

“any time love, just remember better late than never”

“I will”

“alright” I close the phone and walk over to the door and open it but to my surprise it’s not Jenna, its Liam.

“How…how did you know where I lived?”

“I kinda wanted to make sure you got home safe”

“I did and I’m fine thanks but no thanks I’ll just go grab your jacket” and as I turn around I hear him say “it’s not about the jacket, you could keep it if you’d like”

“then why are you here?” I say as I turn around “well” he says with a small laugh

“isn’t it obvious?”

“Clearly, not”

“you!” I look around awkwardly, I wasn’t expecting that…

“Um” he shakes his head and runs his fingers through this hair as if surprised at his very words and starts shaking his head as he says “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have come here. This was very stupid of me”

Liam’s POV

Honestly what was I thinking? I probably sound like a total creep to this girl I barely know and I start walking in the opposite direction as fast as I can

“wait”

I stop, did I hear that correctly? Or did I want hear that? I slightly turn around

“Did you really just..?” I say

“Yeah”

I fully turn around and walk back over to her and stand in front of her small frame “Why?”

she shrugs “why not?” she’s got a point.

“Come in” she gestured with her hand and moved out of the doors way and as I was just placing a foot inside she startled me “No, wait” she said as she turned around and walked into the other room
