There wasn't much that you could do to help him aside from pass him whatever tool or part that he needed. Other than that, all you could really do was lay out and organize the little parts that had rested in the crate so they could be grabbed and pointed out with ease. For the most part though you just tried to stay awake and shake away the tiredness that begged for you to return to a silken bed. The feeling grew easier to ignore as the hours kept ticking by into the afternoon, but it only came back more intense as the night drew closer and closer. Despite how fast Pentious seemed to be working on his machine you couldn't see much progress, for the most part he just seemed to be removing the metal panels to better reveal the damaged interior. Most of the metal was set down near the machine while what scraps of damaged metal remained were tossed to the side. When the main panel had been removed to expose the core of the machine the actual repairs were allowed to start. He started removing wiring and other components and asking for the replacement parts that were laid out on the floor. Passing along tubes, wires, and other metallic pieces did help to keep you awake for a while longer, even more so whenever he would ask for you come forward to hold certain pieces still while he worked on either removing them or screwing them back into place. It helped keep you focused for a while however, as he started to work on a larger patch of wires there was really nothing that you could do aside from sit around and wait for him to ask you to pass along another strand or two. A small nip to your tongue helped to snap yourself back into what you called reality but the little bit of discomfort could only do so much especially when the small poke of a fang hardly even registered as pain. Something else was needed to stay awake "I'm going to go make some coffee, you want any?" you asked as you stood up. "I wouldn't waist your time, just let me replace this last bit of wiring then we can call it quits for the night" he replied. Sitting back down on the edge of the overturned crate you watched as he pulled away yet another mess of broken and fried wires. Passing him several lines of the rubber coated gold you watched as he carefully went about replacing the mess, he certainly didn't seem to cut any corners when it came to his devices. Another small nip to your tongue drew enough time for him to finish up rewiring the one section of the machine, it was still broken and unable to function properly but it was a start. Trailing back up stairs and through a yolky room the silence was almost unsettling, there was normally always some little noise going on in the background but now there was just nothing. The place itself still felt cold as if that presence still hadn't fully left, if you were still freezing no doubt Pentious was feeling the chill even more so. The sluggish pace seemed to drop completely as you drew near the room, after a quick shower and a change into your nightdress it was almost heavenly to dive under the covers and curl up once again with your snake. Despite how much your body had been begging for sleep once you were in bed you couldn't seem to close your eyes. Even when Pentious wrapped himself around you and quickly fell into his own slumber you couldn't shut your eyes, all you could really do was keep your arms wrapped around him and listen to his breaths. That shark tooth smile still embedded in your memory as though it was a scar. If it was only that you'd be fine but that little bit of information that turned itself into a threat was what made you scared, though he had only toyed with you there wasn't a doubt in your mind that if he wanted to he could easily just come back and kill you both without issue.
With next to no sleep the following day felt even worse. Though Pentious had made you breakfast and you practically slammed down two cups of coffee it still seemed hard to keep focus. Aware to almost everything else other than what you were doing, listening and looking for anything out of the ordinary. Tired yet on edge. A small part of you felt that you were overreacting since Pentious didn't even seem phased, then again, he didn't hear what that other demon said to you. Despite wanting to stay by the serpent's side for the majority of the day there were things that had to be done. "Can you try to clean up the mess before these things start decaying?" though phrased like a question it came out as more of an order than anything as he pushed an odd vacuum like contraption into your arms. "Ya, I got it" you hardly managed to get the response out before he had turned and slithered back down into the production room, no doubt he'd want to get the machines fixed as soon as possible. Taking a look at the vacuum it seemed to be yet another one of his hand made devices, instructions printed on it so clearly that even an egg could figure out how it worked. Starting with the main room you began cleaning, it was unsettling to say the least. The vacuum was designed to not only be able to suck up the yolk but to shred the now fragile egg shells as well. You had no idea what was more unsettling, the horrid cracking over the whirls of the device or how efficient it was at pulling the yolk and blood out of the carpet. Needless to say, the day sucked as you went about trying to clean as much as demonly possible, the problem was how large the house was and the sheer number of eggs that had been splattered across the floor. There was a faint hope that you'd see at least one live egg as you kept trying to clean up the rooms, the faint hope that one would come running out to see you or that you would find one hiding in some tiny little corner. Entering the one of the little quarters that the eggs would stay in there was just another mess of yolk, taking a small glance under tiny beds a handful of egg shells hid under the one. A small sigh escaped you, as you started cleaning the room that small hope in your chest quickly dying. It was starting to become clear that the shadowy attack the radio demon used had destroyed not only the eggs in the room but all the eggs in the house. A small thought wondering if that same attack was also the cause of the damage to the egg machine that Pentious had made. Thoughts came to a halt as a small little glitter caught your eye, a small little light sitting among a mess of yolk on one of the beds. Curious as to what it was you stopped the device and brushed away some of the yolk there was what looked to be a half-broken coin hidden away. Brushing it off and setting it on one of the little dressers you were just about to go back to work when something else caught your eye, another small flash, then another, then another. There were a few small trinkets that some of the eggs had hidden away under their beds and in their pillows. Most of it was innocent, a few shiny stones, warped bits of metal, and upon further inspection a few of their bosses bow ties. There was one that one however that had somehow managed to snag an extremely perverted magazine and stuff it in his pillow. You doubt Pentious ever entered the eggs rooms, if he did, he most likely would have taken the bows and magazine away from them. You just cleaned the room of the yolk and bodies and left the little trinkets as they were, at the very least the next batch of eggs would be over the moon with the discovery of those little keepsakes that once belonged to their fallen brothers. From one egg room to another it was the same thing, a mess of yolk and a bunch of small trinkets that they had managed to hold onto. Hours seemed to tick by at a snail's pace, the only advantage of such a time crawl was that it allowed a few extra rooms to be done, if one could even call it an advantage.
