The Lantern (A Young Justice/Artemis Fanfiction) ON HOLD

Chapter Four

"Isla Santa Prisca," Batman said, looking at the holographic screen in front of him. "This island nation is the primary source of a dangerous and illegal neosteroid - a strength enhancing drug sold under the street name "Venom".

The screen changed, showing pictures and blueprints of the factory. "Infrared heat signatures indicate their factory is still operating at full capacity, but all shipments of Venom have been inexplicably cut off. That's where this team comes in," Batman turned, looking at each of them individually. "This is a covert recon mission only. Observe and report. If the Justice League needs to intervene, it will."

Batman turned once more to the screen, this time pulling up an image of the island. "The plan requires two drop zones."

"So who's in charge?" Robin asked. Batman and Red Tornado looked at each other. "Work that out between you." Robin nodded, a small smirk coming over his face.

"We're approaching Santa Prisca," M'gann said, breaking the tense silence of the Bioship. "Drop Zone 'A' in thirty."

Aqualad stood from his seat, the black harnesses retracting into the seat. His seat melted towards the ground. He touched the symbol on his belt, his normally red shirt turning into a deep grey.

"Ready."

"Putting Bioship in camoflauge mode," M'gann responded. The Bioship immediately turned translucent. Once it reached Drop Zone A, a hole in the floor opened and Aqualad dove into the water, a small splash sounding where his body impacted.

"Heat and motion sensors are patched," Aqualad said into the earpiece as the Bioship flew over him. "Data is now on a continuous loop. Move in."

"Drop Zone 'B'," M'gann announced as the Bioship stopped. The teens stood, their seats melting back into the Bioship. M'gann lowered, her head, holding out a hand. A line with a hook came down from the ceiling infant of the three boys. Both Wally and Robin took the line, clipping it to their belts.

"You know, I could just lower you guys," Reyna said to the boys. "Create a platform for you."

"Uhhh," Wally said. "I think I trust her more than you."

"You're right," Reyna mused. "I'd probably drop you for the hell of it."

Robin laughed as Wally's cheeks burned a slight red. He pressed the symbol on his chest, turning his usual bright-yellow suit to a deep grey.

"How cool is this?" Wally sung, turning to show off his suit to the girls.

"Very impressive," M'gann playcated. She lowered her head, her normal outfit turning into her stealth mode outfit.

Reyna touched the Green Lantern symbol on her chest, the usual emerald green turning to a deep slate grey-green that would blend in perfectly with her surroundings.

"Hey, Supey," Wally called. "Not too late to put on the new stealth tech."

"No capes, no tights. No offense." Superboy crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"It totally works for you..." M'gann sighed dreamily, staring at the half-Kryptonian. "In that you can totally do good work n those clothes." She gave him an awkward thumbs up.

"Smooth." Reyna fake coughed into her hand, sharing a smirk with Robin. M'gann opened up the hole in the floor, lowering herself towards the ground. Reyna followed suit, her ring glowing slightly on her hand. The two boys were lowered beside her, safely landing on the ground besides the two flight-capable girls.

There was a slight whistle in the air and Reyna looked up just in time to register Superboy catapulting down towards them. She threw her body to the left, landing on the ground as far away from the boy. He landed with a grunt, a small crater in the Earth where he landed.

"Knew I didn't need a line."

"Any yet," Robin exclaimed. "Creating a seismic event may not have helped us so much with the covert."
