Lucas peered at her consistently, taking his time to search for a name.
"...Ema?"
The Emolga cackled and winked. "The one and only..." a smirk played across her lips once more. "Lucas. Star. You two look a lot better then when I last saw you."
They let the peaceful instrumental song play in the background as they didn't know how to react. Finally Star coughed. "I- uhm- is that a compliment or-?"
Ema shrugged. "So. What brings you here?"
Star flicked his ears in slight shock. It was clear he wasn't going to answer this question.
Lucas decided to stall. "I could ask the same to you. Shouldn't you be in that kingdom- or, whatever- of yours?" This caused her the giggle and lean on the table, he felt a slight smugness in her emotions.
Cross is going to be delighted about this. Lucas sighed to himself.
I have no idea what's going on. Cloud stated in a blunt tone.
Dude. Same. Shyster. There was the sound of some sort of slapping. Lucas guessed they high-fived.
Well, if you all remember exactly, Anime started her explanation, Ema is one of Cross's past... friends. Long story short, it didn't work out well. Later, when Cross was in the gang, Ema came back and tried to bring her to her "kingdom" so she could marry a prince that she didn't want to. That's how Lucas and the others who were there at the time met her.
Nice fill-in. Chez said.
"I ran away." Ema replied, pausing to take a bite out of her treat. With her mouth still full, she continued. "Live here now. It's way better. Got a hotel and all. Not like me and my roomie pay with our own money of course." She mumbled through the frosting.
"Roomie? Don't pay? How do you live there?" Lucas asked, but he already knew the answer he would get. He didn't need his mind-reading skills for that.
Ema used her free paw to fingergun and the Weavile, who was still at the counter talking to the clerk. Her crown-like appendage had a slight combover that made her stick out a bit, and the gold jewel implanted to her forehead gleamed beautifully in the candles. Her crimson, slitted eyes lined with dark eyelashes fluttered at the clerk. It was obvious she was trying to woo him.
"That. See her? That's Trivia, my partner. She's really good at thievery." Ema glanced around slowly to make sure no one was listening. "Her ability is actually Pickpocket."
Lucas did an unimpressed snort. "That sounds exactly like the kind of person you'd make friends with."
"Uhm...Lucas?" Star shifted beside him. "I- think we should get going and meet up with the others?" He suggested, "I don't think Shad will be to happy with new people."
Lucas nodded, sensing that Shad hadn't realized they were talking to new Pokémon yet. "Well we can-"
"Yo, Ema." The Weavile, aka Trivia, walked up and tossed her some sort of expensive looking earring. "Got what you wanted."
Ema grinned and went to catch it, only missing because of her short size. The earring flew by and hit some random Sylveon in the eye.
"Ow." The Sylveon grunted, holding a paw to her eye. Their was a unusual colored Umbreon- a shiny- beside them. She panicked and picked it up.
