Eight thirty-seven at dusk. That's what time it was when the three lonely girls roamed aimlessly around in the city of Los Angeles, California. The white, twinkly stars elevated the dark sky of the night. The chilly winds blew past the bare arms of the three foreigners, making their skin shiver and their teeth chatter. Naturally, all three of them quickly rubbed their arms and clutched their teeth together to halt the reactions of the cold night.
How can we be lost in the middle of Los Angeles? the leader, CALLIE, wondered absurdly.
Well, who wouldn't get lost in this city? There were thousands of streets and buildings everywhere! And not to mention billions of people walking around practically piling up and bumping into each other.
And it was freaking cold, too?!
It was all too overwhelming.
The coffee brown skinned leader looked back responsibly at her two friends, CHRESANDRA and JACQUELINE, trailing behind her, both pairs of legs tremendously shivering in their skinny jeans.
CALLIE bit her lower lip, rubbing her hands quicker on her small biceps. I've got to get us somewhere warm fast before we FREEZE to death... she thought.
CALLIE quickly shifted her eyes around the people passing by and the street lights providing dim light for everyone to see. Almost everyone the three girls passed would look at them like their insane, probably wondering, "Why in the world don't they have coats on? It's thirty-five degrees out here."
God I hate this place, CALLIE seethed in her thoughts, biting her lip harder. There was no telling how many hours she and her friends had been walking, and her poor red Converse-covered feet were hurting. I can't walk like this for much longer...
Then, as if predictably on cue, the sound of a little bell jingled through the leader's ears, making her senses spark in anticipation. Her espresso brown eyes shifted to the sound of a random customer exiting out of a Subway that was one building down from where they were.
CALLIE's eyes expanded as an idea arrived in her head. She mentally smiled.
This was the perfect opportunity to resolve their momentary problem.
Callie: (looks back at friends, eager) "C'mon, girls, follow me."
The two friends hastily follow her as she led them towards the sandwich fast food restaurant. It was the most randomest place she could ever choose, she thought, but hey, at least it would be warm in there.
The little silver bell dinged as soon as the three of them trailed in, quickly taking their seats in an unaccompanied booth in a faraway corner. The amazing smell of different bread and condiments invaded their noses as they got adjusted to the place, immediately warming up. As weird as it may sound, the girls had never been to a Subway before. The place was unbearably small to them, but luckily there weren't a lot of people there.
CALLIE sat across from her two best friends, who sat beside each other. She finally took her hood from her short-sleeved jean jacket off her head, revealing her dark brown loose curls that cascaded down to her mid-back. She sighed and mentally face-palmed herself. Real convenient to be wearing a short-sleeved jacket in this weather... sarcasm dripping through her thoughts.
She glanced at the two sitting promptly across from her; JACQUELINE on the left and CHRESANDRA on the right.
JACQUELINE sat in her usual posture. Arms folded across her chest in a huff, slouching in her seat lowly, one leg crossed over the other. An annoyed scowl sketched her flawless, butterscotch face, furiously glaring out the window they were by. Her extremely long, wavy brownish-black hair was in her signature two high ponytails, ending right at her hips.
