Hey, the name's Sting Eucliffe, the Light Dragon Slayer and Sabertooth's amazing guild master. I'm sure you've heard of me. Handsome, smart, funny, talented – I'm not cocky and egotistical Rogue! Sorry, that's my emo partner and Shadow Dragon Slayer, Rogue Cheney. This is my story Rogue, not yours! I'm not being childish, just shut up Rogue! No, don't tell Yukino that! You promised you wouldn't tell her! Come back here, Rogue! Anyway, here's my story of how I got a little sister named Lucy.
I woke up early this morning to get some paperwork done before breakfast. Being guild master has its hard times but I have fun in my own way. As I was walking tiredly to my office, I heard a knock on the guild doors and wondered who it could be. I opened the guild doors to find no one outside. Looking down, I found a strange basket with a white blanket covering its contents at my feet. I kneeled down and cautiously pulled back the blanket to find a sleeping little blonde girl in a white dress. She looked to be about five years old. Beside her head was a note so I picked it up and read it.
Please take care of Lucy
I looked on the back of the note for anything else but that was all that was written. No last name, no address, nothing, just Lucy. 'Well, I've always wanted a little sister' I thought as I picked up her basket and carried her inside. When I placed her basket on a table, she began to stir from her slumber. She looked up at me and started tearing up. "Oh no" I mumbled just before she let out a loud cry.
"Please don't cry, I'm not going to hurt you" I said nicely trying to get her to stop crying. "Who are you and where am I?" she asked as she sobbed. "You're in Sabertooth's guild hall and I'm Sting Eucliffe, your big brother" I said, hoping she would accept me as her big brother. "Big brother?" she asked as she stopped crying and I nodded. She held out her arms towards me "Big Brother!" she said, her tears drying up. I picked her up and she wrapped her arms around my neck in a hug which I gladly returned. 'I finally have a little sister!' I thought happily.
"What's with all this noise?" I heard someone ask behind me and turned to see Rogue. "Rogue, meet Lucy Eucliffe" I said as I showed Lucy to him. "Don't tell me you kidnapped her" he groaned, "no I didn't. I found her in a basket outside the guild" I explained to him. "Who is he, Big Brother?" Lucy asked me as she looked at Rogue. "This is Rogue, he's my partner" I told her. "You make us sound gay" Rogue sighed as he shook his head at me. "I'm his friend. It's nice to meet you Lucy" he said to her with a small smile as he bent down to her level in my arms. "Nice to meet you too Rogue" she replied with a smile.
Suddenly Lucy's stomach rumbled and I chuckled. "Are you hungry Lucy?" I asked and she nodded shyly. I haven't known her for more than an hour and I already love her. I took her towards the bar with Rogue silently following. I sat her gently on a stool before going behind the bar. "Is cereal aright for you Lucy?" I asked, "ah huh" she replied as she watched my hands pour some cereal into a bowl. After pouring the milk in, I handed a bowl to her and walked back round the counter to sit next to her with my own bowl.
By the time Lucy and I finished our breakfast, Lector and Frosch flew towards us and landed on the bar counter. "Good morning Sting...Who's that?" Lector asked as he noticed Lucy's presence beside me. "Meet my little sister Lucy Eucliffe" I said as I pulled Lucy into my lap and hugged her from behind. I love my last name on her, it almost gives me the shivers.
"Sister?! You never told me you had a sister! Why didn't you tell me, I'm your best friend?!" he exclaimed upset. "I found her this morning" I replied and then Lector looked shocked at me. "I thought I knew you well but I never expected you to kidnap a little girl!" he said, taking a few steps back in disgust. I groaned at his reaction, "why does everyone suspect that I kidnapped her?! I found her in a basket on the guild's doorstep" I replied. "Oh, that makes it alright then" Lector said in relief, "I think so too" Frosch added.
Later I took Lucy to my room to hide her from my guildmates until we were ready to introduce her to everyone. Lector and Frosch were inside with us so they could play with her. Lucy would cuddle and chase them around the room. I watched them from my bed with a bright smile on my face. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Rogue came in. "Ready? Everyone is waiting for you to introduce Lucy" he asked. "Great. Come on Lucy, Lector" I said as I picked Lucy up. "Awe, can't we play a bit longer?" she pouted, "you can play for as long as you like after I introduce you to the guild" I replied. She nodded and we walked out of the room.
I carried her onto the stage and everyone was staring at her in silence, probably wonder who was she. Lucy became overwhelmed by their staring and hid her face in the crook of my neck. I gave her a reassuring pat on the back before I spoke. "Sabertooth, I'll like you to meet my little sister Lucy Eucliffe" I said. There was a moment of silence before everyone exclaimed "WHAT?!" They all started talking at once, asking questions but most of them were about how did I get a sister. I answered all their questions before getting down from the stage.
