Chapter one - Part one
He watched the waves crash against the ferries hull. They corroded the paint mixed with the ice that clung to it. The sounds of it and the smell of the salt ocean added to the sensation of euphoria, save for the fact he couldn't savour it for long. Locke was finally away from the grips of his father but at the cost of his freedom.
He was halfway to his new home, a boarding school on a secluded Scottish isle. It was home to the UK's elite and even some of the world. Posh twats in summary. Except he supposed he was one of those posh twats now...
He missed the country house, on those warm summers when his mother was still... No he wouldn't let the memories dominate another day. Still he longed for the sun on his back, not the cold knives of winter. He walked from the deck into the somewhat warmer interior. He wore the schools uniform. And felt that it instead wore him. He hated it. A dark blue blazer and white shirt with an orange and black striped tie: The schools logo embroidered on his left shoulder. That of a lions head and mane. Under, the words Paramount Hall were proudly written.
His eyes glazed the dead cabin. A bearded man lay sprawled across multiple chairs. Next on two separate tables he spotted two girls in uniform, they were the only four heading to Tark. It was the small isle the school sat on and except for the school itself there was only a tiny village.
It was supposed to be almost impossible to get into the school, especially as late as Locke. He would only be serving three years at the school. Yeah 'serving' had a nice ring to it. He would be nineteen by the time he could escape...
