Nova walked with her friends Flynn and Mark through the empty streets. She had a machine gun on her back, machete in hand. They were ready for a zombie attack at any time.
Issac stalked through the streets, the most human looking of his group. 'I'm not a monster' He repeated over and over to himself. He wanted to be human again. He didn't want to crave human flesh. He didn't like that. He just wanted to be human, or at least meet a human who would give him a chance. Him and his group rounded a corner and saw them. The black haired girl caught his eye immediately. 'I know her, but from where?' He thought immediately as he strained to remember his past human life, unaware of them getting ready to shoot if he or his group came closer.
The girl, Nova, caught eyes with the zombie. 'Why isn't he coming closer?' She thought as the other zombies closed in on them. Flynn ran at them with his bat, busting their brains out. Mark shoot them down from a distance. Nova sighed and helped kill the zombies off until only one was standing.
The zombie watched them kill off his group. Good. He disliked them anyways. The guys walked closer to him, cornering him. He let them. He didn't want to live this life anymore. He tried to speak, but it came out odd and the words were so far apart. "Please..... End.... Me." Flynn lifted the bat above his head but before he brought it down, someone grabbed his arm. "Stop! He isn't hurting us!" It was the girls voice.
Flynn stared at her in surprise, then it quickly turned to anger. "He's a zombie. He'll eat us one day." "He speaks! He can understand us!" She insisted, and turned to him. "You, what's your name?" She asked. The zombie was shocked, but answered. "I-sacc..." "See?! He's perfectly capable of talking and maintaining control." She then smiled and turned to Issac. "I'm Nova, sorry about my friends. They don't have good run-in's with zombies, but who does?" Issac nodded slowly. "Th-ey... Want t..o.... Kill." "Damn right they do." Mark grumbled. Flynn nodded and rolled his eyes. "Let's leave them alone. We'll come back to get her body later." With that said Flynn and Mark left, leaving Issac and Nova alone.
They both knew each other. Wether it just be a coincidence, deja vu, or something else. "You don't crave flesh." It wasn't a question, more like a statement. "N...o." "Why?" She asked. "N...ot su...re." He answered, then continued. "D-o... You n-eed... F-ood and... Sh...elter?" She looked at him confused, then nodded slowly. "Yeah, why?" He didn't answer, just simply took her hand and walked off in a direction. She followed behind him, smiling, his ice cold hand not phasing her.
After 20 minutes of walking they arrived in front of a bakery. "W-e... Pro-tect... This pl...ace" Issac said and walked in, Nova following. The inside was bright and colourful, stocked with foods and drinks. Zombies looked at Nova hungrily, but didn't advance at her, due to Issac being with her. "T...ake wh...at y-you... w-ant" She walked behind the counter and kneeled down, picking up a donut, and biting down into it. It was much different in there than the dull outside world.
"Why did you bring me here?" She asked after she finished her donut. He shrugged as they walked up a flight of stairs. "D-ont... think y-ou.... would w...ant... t-o stay w-ith... those dirtb...ags." She smiled at him. It made him feel good, that smile. "Thanks, and I really don't." He nodded and opened a mahogny door, revealing a small room. The walls were a dark purple, the carpet a light tan. There was a bed in a corner with black covers, beside it a dark wood bedside table. 3 feet away from the bedside table was a dark wood dresser. In another corner was a door, probably a bathroom. "H...ere. Th-is is y...our room." Issac said and looked away. She smiled and hugged him, again, not caring he was a zombie. A monster. He was shocked, but hugged back. She pulled away and smiled, walking over to her dresser, and opening it. "I gu-essed... Your s-ize." He said as the dresser was full of clothes her size. She smiled and faced him. "They're exactly my size. Now, get out while I change before I hit you." He laughed, something he hadn't done in ages, and walked out, closing the door behind him.
And as Issac walked down the stairs, and while Nova changed, something was certain. A strong feeling was between them. A strong feeling that nothing could break apart. Not even if one had a heart while the other was something from a fairy tale.
